-In response to the increasing crimes of the regime that violate all international humanitarian norms and conventions -And standing with our colleagues, the physicians, that have carried out their professional duties and stayed true to their Hippocratic Oath and obeyed their conscience to support the revolution of their people with word and deed, being 'rewarded' by the regime with murder and detention

-And in response to the violation of the sanctity of hospitals by raiding them and killing and kidnapping the patients, even in operation rooms and intensive care units, even by kidnapping the bodies of the martyrs from the morgues:

We declare our boycott, and we call on all those who work in health care to boycott their trade unions for the unions' failure to fulfill their purpose of protecting their members, defending them and enabling them to carry out their professional duty.

We renew our commitment to our medical oath to treat any patient under any circumstance or threat. Please note that the Coordination Committee of Physicians in Damascus has documented the massacres of Fateh Hospital and Rajaa Hospital that took place on Friday, 2011-09-02 in Kafar Batana and Arbeen, in addition to similar crimes that have been documented previously, to submit to the respective authorities to hold those responsible accountable.

We also invite all who work in health care to join us for an open-ended sit-in Mowasat Hospital, Mojtehed Ibn al-Nafees Hospital and National Hospital (formerly Assad Hospital), starting Sunday 07:30 am until the release of all our detained colleagues of medical profession.
