The Syrian Regime is forced to delay a national holiday to organize pro-regime demonstrations tomorrow.
The Syrian National News Agency (SANA) announced that the "Teachers' Day" holiday is delayed after being officially scheduled tomorrow, March 15, which coincides with the first anniversary of the start of the Syrian Revolution. The regime ordered that all students in schools, institutes and universities should continue attending their classes tomorrow as usual.
Governmental employees were notified that vacations for tomorrow were prohibited, and that anyone who is absent from work on that day will face regulatory punishments and 75% reduction in their monthly pay.
These were part of the regime's plan to start pro-regime rallies tomorrow in several Syrian provinces. Eye witnesses said that the regime installed podiums and spread flags and photos in many of the public squares in the capital Damascus, as well as many provincial centres, in preparation for these rallies.
Observers are questioning the regime's resort to these obvious methods to summon everyone they could force to participate in these rallies, noting that delaying a national holiday to force students and employees to come out in pro rallies is a sign of a public bankruptcy.
