Chaldean bishops warned of this when we undertook to punish Saddam for his connections to Al-Quaeda which did not exist ignore the UN and get those weapons of mass destruction our glorious war of liberation: "A new conflict would trigger an awful clash within the Muslim world between Sunnis and Shiites." Implication: If Saddam goes, anarchy will break loose in Iraq, and without him as a shield, it will be the end for Christians. Of course, we knew better. And besides, they pretty much deserve this since they actually thought it would be better not to be slaughtered and driven from their homes than to support our Grand End to Evil strategy...

Chaldean bishops warned of this when we undertook to punish Saddam for his connections to Al-Quaeda which did not exist ignore the UN and get those weapons of mass destruction our glorious war of liberation:
"A new conflict would trigger an awful clash within the Muslim world between Sunnis and Shiites."
Implication: If Saddam goes, anarchy will break loose in Iraq, and without him as a shield, it will be the end for Christians.
Of course, we knew better. And besides, they pretty much deserve this since they actually thought it would be better not to be slaughtered and driven from their homes than to support our Grand End to Evil strategy. How selfish can you *get*? As one of my readers memorably summed up the Neocon Master of the Universe attitude to the Chaldeans and their petty desire to not be butchered by the forces our reckless war of choice would unleash:
As for Christians being worse off now, well, most of the folks who supported Saddam and benefited from his criminal gang are worse off. The Chaldeans have little to be proud of in their conduct before the Liberation. At best, they can be called the Vichy of Saddam's regime.
So the bishop pretty much had it coming. You gotta break some eggs to make an omelette. Chaldean Christians should get down on their knees and *thank* the Masters of the Universe and Big Thinkers who unleashed this war on them. Instead, the selfish ingrates keep prattling on about dying and losing everything, as if *that* was what mattered in the Grand Scheme of Things.
