Statement of Sheikh Majeed Al-Gaood, Secretary General of WAHAJ El-Iraq (WE) & spokesman of the Patriotic, National & Islamic Front:

We are appealing to our people to boycott the constitutional referendum, as all illegal legislation emerging from the occupation are illegal.

The constitutional referendum game is part of plans prepared long ago by the occupiers to legalise the invasion and occupation of Iraq and its consequences. The occupation, according to all laws & principles, is considered as a crime committed against a sovereign state, a crime of illegal war of aggression that destroyed our country and in breach & violation of all sound principals of international law.

According to resolution 1514 of the General Assembly of the United Nations, issued on the 14th of December 1960, any occupier of a soil of any state is a violation of the principals of the UN charter. Also, according to article 42 of the additional protocol of the Hague convention of 1907, any soil of a state is considered occupied, when it is under the de facto authority of the enemy army, as it is now in Iraq & that resistance of such an occupation is a legal right for the people of the occupied state.

Also, According to Article 64 of the Fourth Geneva Convention, the occupation forces have no legislative authority in changing laws, nature or form of the political regime in the occupied territory.

Article 53 of The Geneva Convention has also forbid the destruction of personal or collective properties belonging to individuals or states or any general entities.

The American occupation has severely dumped & violated all these principles & laws & has destroyed Iraq as state, its people & its establishments, which makes the constitution draft & the referendum come within the operation of legitimatization of all crimes & violations committed by the occupiers.

Does any Iraqi accept to grant legitimacy to the occupation through participation in a referendum that is based on an illegal legislation prepared by the occupiers?

All sound principals of international law forbid the effectuation of any political operation of any kind or form under occupation, as it is considered to be illegal, in addition to its breach and violation of all the legislations mentioned above. It is also a rigorous violation of the right of the Iraqi people's autonomy, according to his own free & independent will.


Every thing happening on the Iraqi soil ever since the occupation took place is a reshaping of Iraq as state & people in favour of the Americans & the Zionists & their allies in the region. Now, all patriotic Iraqis are fully aware that whatever is happening in Iraq is directly connected to serving the American political decision & its interests. This would be done through the creation of a fake, illusory democracy executed by the operatives of the US administration, prepared for their dirty mission as planned in order to serve the American interests in Iraq & the Arab region.

Let us ask this question:

Does the US want a strong, powerful Iraq or a weak Iraq easy to lead & to control?

It is certain that the domination over the political decision of Iraq & the full control of its economic resources & capabilities are in need of a weak & divided Iraq. As the American targets are faced by the strong Iraq & need a marginalized Iraq instead. This entire evil plan needs a legitimate cover in order to be executed & that would only be possible through the US-Zionist constitution.

All the leaves of the American project have fallen down during the last two years in front of the heroic resistance of the Iraqi people & the patriotic, national & Islamic Iraqi resistance in Mesopotamia. The only thing left to save that project is the passing of the constitution conspiracy, which the US administration is trying hard to do, but will fall once more. The Iraqi people have proven to be a great strong people all along their history, even though deceived by traitors & mercenaries, and they are fully aware of this dangerous conspiracy targeting the unity of their country, his past & his future .

Those who turn their heads away from the truth, that the constitution is part of the occupation, part which is playing an important role in the agenda for destroying Iraq, & those who deceive the people, by urging them to participate in the coming referendum, are as if they were asking Iraqis to vote on the legitimacy of the aggression , invasion, destruction of Iraq, and voting on the devastated, divided Iraq wanted by the Americans. So, how come they urge the people of Iraq to participate in a referendum on the evil & wrong? This is something that cannot be accepted by any manner, religion or logic.

Those who are trying to jeopardize the future of the Iraqi people & play with their fate by the referendum are committing a huge unjustified sin, as if they were joining the occupiers & their operatives.

Those who are chasing illusions, have to remember the bloodshed of the sons of our people & their sacrifices. They have to remember the killing, the torture, the humiliation & the devastation that happened to our people under the eyes & ears of the whole World.

We are reminding those people that the history wont tolerate or forgive the co-conspirators or those who retarded from giving support to their religion, people or nation & also those who give up the legal rights of their people.

That's why we are repeating once more the appeal in our statement of the 26 of last August to all the sons of the our Iraqi people to boycott the referendum on the constitution & to boycott all political operation of any kind or name under occupation.

To consider that the resistance for expelling the occupiers & their operatives from the Iraqi pure soil & their deprivation from getting any interest, even the least, are a huge national mission which can never be given up or discussed under any circumstances .

We all have to keep in mind that the huge problem that our people & our homeland are suffering from is the presence of the occupation which must be expelled by resistance.

We have to remember that the resistance is the only weapon which can free people of Iraq from the occupiers, & that it is the most effective tool for liberation & for the defeat of the Zionist-Imperialistic project.

We also have to remember that the resistance as it is deeply connected to the people, it is considered to be the best representation of their will & hopes in this historical stage of our people’s life & our nation .
