Gunmen kill six al-Fallujah youths delivering fruits and vegetables.
In a
dispatch posted at 1:50pm Mecca time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat
al-Islam reported that gunmen dressed in black – a style frequently
used by Shi'i sectarian gunmen – attacked and killed a number of truck
drivers hauling fruits and vegetables from al-Fallujah to 'Alawi
Jamilah, in southern Baghdad.
The
correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as
saying that the gunmen wearing black opened fire on the trucks that
belonged to individuals in al-Fallujah who were on their daily route,
bringing fruits and vegetables into the area south of Baghdad on
Wednesday evening.
The
attack left six of the truck drivers dead. They were identified as six
young men from al-Fallujah on the basis of their identity papers. The
bodies were taken to al-Fallujah hospital.

Palestinian community in Baghdad appeals for help following brutal
attacks by Shi'i sectarian Jaysh al-Mahdi militia.
In a
dispatch posted at 3:40pm Mecca time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat
al-Islam reported that the Palestinian community in Iraq had issued
an urgent appeal calling on decent people around the world to intervene
quickly to put a stop to the continuous attacks on them by the Shi'i
sectarian Badr Brigades and Jaysh al-Mahdi.
A
copy of the appeal had been received by Mafkarat al-Islam and it
read:
"To
the honorable people in the world . . We seek help! We seek help! We
seek help!
"In
full view of the American forces and the [puppet] regime’s security
forces deployed in the area, a large troop of Jaysh al-Mahdi militia
attacked the al-Quds Mosque and the Palestinian neighborhood in
al-Baladiyat on Wednesday, 22 February 2006.
"That attacking force stormed into the mosque, broke things, wrecked the
contents of the building and threw them randomly at people. They wrote
slogans containing clear incitement against Palestinian worshippers on
the walls and pillars of the mosque, and on the niches."
The
Palestinian statement said, "A mortar shell landed in the area but did
not explode, though it inflicted obvious damage to several buildings.
Five persons were severely injured. Two people were abducted and their
fate remains unknown until now."
The
Palestinian community emphasized that after several previous attacks by
various parties, the latest had been carried out by the Jaysh al-Mahdi.
The
statement concluded: "We repeat that we are appealing to all honorable
people in the world to save what can still be saved and to help get the
Palestinians out of Iraq before it is too late."
Fierce fighting breaks out in western Baghdad between Iraqi Resistance
forces and Badr Brigades and puppet "Shock Troops" on Thursday night.
In a
dispatch posted at 10:10pm Mecca time Thursday night, Mafkarat
al-Islam reported that at the time of reporting extremely fierce
fighting had broken out between Iraqi Resistance forces and puppet
"Iraqi Interior Ministry Shock Troops (Maghawir)" and pro-American Shi'i
sectarian Badr Brigades in Baghdad.
The
correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported so far according to
residents of the western Baghdad district of al-'Amiriyah, four Badr
Brigade and "Shock Troop" vehicles had been destroyed and numerous Badr
Brigade gunmen and "Shock Troops" had been killed and others wounded.
The
correspondent reported that intense sounds of combat could also be heard
in the neighborhood of al-Jihad also in western Baghdad, an area
regarded as Sunni. There the fighting is between the Iraqi Resistance
and puppet "Interior Ministry" troops.
Iraqi Resistance bombards pro-American Badr Brigade headquarters in
al-Jadiriyah Thursday night.
In a
dispatch posted at 9:30pm Mecca time Thursday night, Mafkarat
al-Islam reported that a short while earlier the Iraqi Resistance
had fired four mortar rounds into the headquarters of the pro-American
Shi'i sectarian Badr Brigades near the University of Baghdad in
al-Jadiriyah.

and black smoke were rising from the headquarters as ambulances and

US
troops leave streets in control of Shi'i sectarian Badr Brigades and
Jaysh al-Mahdi militias, in pursuance of plans to partition Iraq.
In a
dispatch posted at 9pm Mecca time Thursday night, Mafkarat al-Islam
reported that US occupation troops had withdrawn from all the streets
and neighborhoods of Baghdad and retired to their bases, raising many
questions among the populace.
The
correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the US troops
left the streets in the control of the Badr Brigades and Jaysh al-Mahdi
Shi'i sectarian militias which have been carrying out widespread attacks
on Sunni mosques and neighborhoods since early Wednesday.
The
correspondents for Quds Press also noted that since the Americans had
occupied Baghdad in spring 2003 the city had been constantly patrolled
by US troops deployed in the city manning checkpoints and supervising
activity in the city. Then when the mysterious bombing struck the 'Ali
al-Hadi Mosque in Samarra’ the American presence seemed to have
disappeared. Clearly the Americans were leaving the scene clear for the
Shi'i sectarian militias.
The
security forces of the US-installed puppet regime, (itself headed by the
American-backed Shi'i sectarian Da'wah Party chief Ibrahim al-Ja'fari),
have been supporting the Badr Brigades and other Shi'i sectarian
militias in their attacks on the Sunni population.
The
American aim clearly is to provoke sectarian fighting as a pretext for
the partition of the country, long an American strategic goal, not only
in Iraq but throughout the Arab and Islamic region.
Reports of Iranian gunmen working together with pro-American Shi'i
sectarian Badr Brigades, rounding up Iraqi Sunnis in Baghdad.
In a

together with the pro-American Badr Brigade Shi'i sectarians. They were
stopping local people and asking them their names and religious
affiliation.
The
correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported one local man as
saying that more than 40 Sunni Iraqis who happen to be named after Sunni
Caliphs have been arrested and loaded into vehicles belonging to the
US-installed puppet "Iraqi Interior Ministry."
The
Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported that Christian residents
of Baghdad’s al-Mansur district confirmed the report, saying that they
had been detained by Shi'i sectarian gunmen, some of them from Iran, but
they were later released when it was learned that they were Christian.
The Shi'i sectarians continued to hold the Iraqi Sunni Muslims, however.
Shi'i sectarian Jaysh al-Mahdi and Badr Brigades attack, burn largest
Sunni mosque in ar-Rusafah.

reported that a short time earlier Shi'i sectarian Jaysh al-Mahdi gunmen
loyal to Shi'i cleric Muqtada as-Sadr attacked the biggest Sunni mosque
in the Baghdad district of ar-Rusafah.
The
correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Badr Brigade
gunmen set fire to the mosque. The fate of the Imam of the mosque and
his children was at the time of reporting still unknown.
The
correspondent noted that the attack took place in full view of the
US-installed Iraqi puppet regime forces who did nothing to stop it.

al-Jabbar Mosque in western Baghdad on Thursday morning.

attack consisted of the firing of three mortar rounds and spraying the
building with medium-caliber gunfire, inflicting extensive damage to the
building.

Muqtada as-Sadr’s militia stage sectarian demonstration in Baghdad.
In a
dispatch posted at 2:30pm Mecca time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat
al-Islam reported that followers of Shi'i cleric Muqtada as-Sadr
staged a large demonstration in which they carried light and medium
weapons near the Republican Palace – the US occupation headquarters
known as the "Green Zone" to the Americans.
The
correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Muqtada
as-Sadr’s gunmen chanted slogans denouncing what they called "Wahhabis
and Salafis" – terms used by the Iraqi puppet regime to refer to Sunni
Islamists – and demanding that the US-installed regime exact revenge on
behalf of the Shi'ah against those who carried out the bombing of the
Samarra’ Shrine of 'Ali al-Hadi.
As
of Thursday night: Sunni Waqf Board reports 148 Sunnis killed in Shi'i
sectarian rampage, carried out under eyes and ears of US occupation
troops.
In a
dispatch posted at 8:50pm Mecca time Thursday night, Mafkarat
al-Islam reported that an official source in the Sunni Waqf (pious
endowment) Baord had announced that the number of Sunni mosques that had
been desecrated, looted, and burned in Baghdad and southern Iraq had
reached 100.
The
correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported the sources as
saying that a large number of Sunni mosques have also been occupied and
seized by the pro-American Shi'i sectarian Badr Brigades.
The
source said that more than 1,500 copies of the Holy Qur’an had been
desecrated, thrown outside of mosques and stamped on, on the pretext
that they were "Sunni."
So
far the number of innocent civilians murdered in the course of the Shi'i
sectarian rampage had reached 148, of whom 40 were religious scholars
and Imams.
Earlier, in a dispatch posted at 1:10pm Mecca time Thursday afternoon
the Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the
Shi'i militia are said to be preparing yet more attacks. Since the
Shi'i sectarian rampage serves the interests of the US and
American-installed puppet regime to split Iraq along sectarian lines,
the sectarian rampage is not being hindered by American military forces
or by the puppet regime’s "security services." The latter, in fact
frequently participate in the sectarian assaults.
Mafkarat al-Islam noted that the Sunni
religious establishment had denounced the complicity of the US
occupation in the campaigns of the sectarian militias who travel about
heavily armed throughout Baghdad with no interference by US troops,
while Sunni residents are not permitted even to carry light arms to
defend their mosques.

Imams of Sunni mosques and four Sunni muezzins from Baghdad.
Pro-American Shi'i sectarian Badr Brigade gunmen seize four Sunni
mosques in Baghdad.
In a
dispatch posted at 1pm Mecca time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat
al-Islam reported that pro-American Badr Brigade gunmen seized four
Sunni mosques in the middle of Baghdad.
The
Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the
seizure came in the context of the Shi'i sectarian offensive that has
the evident backing of the American-installed regime.
The
mosques invaded by pro-American Badr Brigade gunmen are the al-Isra’
wa-al-Mi'raj Mosque, the as-Safa Mosque, the al-Kubaysi Mosque in
Baghdad al-Jadidah, and the al-Hajjah Sa'diyah Mosque in the al-Mansur
district. Badr Brigade gunmen occupied the al-Hajjah Sa'diayah Mosque
with the aid of puppet government agents, the correspondent reported.
The
correspondent noted that after the seizures, it was announced that all
four Sunni mosques had been turned into Shi'i Husayniat (places of
worship) as Shi'ah performed a ritual of cursing the early leaders of
Sunni Islam. The puppet regime and its American backers – the
instigators of the Shi'i sectarian rampage – have of course done nothing
to hinder it, the correspondent noted.
Resistance fighters battle pro-American Badr Brigade gunmen in ad-Durah
Wednesday night.
In a
dispatch posted at 10:20am Mecca time Thursday morning, Mafkarat
al-Islam reported that violent fighting raged in the southern
Baghdad suburb of ad-Durah on the night of Wednesday-Thursday as Iraqi
Resistance fighters battled pro-American Badr Brigades.
The
Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses

weeks ago moved to al-'Arabiyah TV.

was not the first time that al-'Arabiyah TV has had reporters killed in
Iraq. On an earlier occasion 'Ali al-Khatib and 'Ali 'Abd al-'Aziz were
gunned down by US troops and Kazim Jawwad was the target of an
assassination attempt. A number of workers in the al-'Arabiyah bureau
in Baghdad were killed in 2005 when a bomb exploded there.

The bodies of the prisoners have been found in various parts of
