I woke up this morning to a GOOD NEWS day – media mogul Conrad Black (notorious for his anti-Arab, anti-Muslim and anti-Iranian media propaganda) was convicted of criminal fraud; a top Indian figure has proposed a scheme for limiting the horror of female infanticide; the American political storm against war-monger idiot Bush continues; – and the Occupied Iraq football team defeated that of the brutal Occupier, politically correct racist (PC Racist) White Australia, in the Asian Cup in Bangkok, Thailand. One is reminded of the famous victory of the Kiev football team (Start FC based on the pre-war Kiev Dynamos) against the teams of the Nazi German Army and Luftwaffe in World War 2. In their famous match against the Nazi Forces team they beat the Nazi German Occupiers 5-3 despite having been warned at half-time of deadly consequences if they won. Many of the Ukrainian players were killed by the Nazis after the match in Nazi concentration camps (however, contrary to patriotic myth many actually survived the war) (for a summary account see: HERE ): After the liberation of the Ukrainian capital Kiev in November 1943, Stalin’s apparatchiks created a propaganda myth that all of the Ukrainian players had been arrested immediately after the match and shot, some of them shot while still wearing their red shirts. In reality many DID die in Nazi concentration camps but many also survived the horrors of German Occupation. The survivors were enjoined by the authorities not to reveal their survival. The myth persisted and the real story was only revealed after after the collapse of Communism. The true story was told a quarter century after the match by Makar Goncharenko. Goncharenko who was the last surviving member of the team (he died in 1996). What has been the situation in Iraq under Sanctions (1990-2003) and after invasion and occupation by US, UK, Australian and other US Coalition forces (2003-present)? From UN agency and top medical literature data, the post-invasion excess deaths (avoidable deaths, deaths that did not have to happen) in Occupied Iraq now (as of March 2007) total 1.0 million, this being consonant with UNICEF estimates of post-invasion under-5 infant deaths totaling (March 2007) 0.5 million (90% avoidable and due to gross, war criminal US, UK and Australian violation of the Geneva Convention that explicitly demands that Occupiers do everything in their power to keep their conquered subjects ALIVE; according to WHO, annual per capita medical expenditure in Occupied Iraq is about $60 as compared to about $6,000 in the US - evidence of deliberate US Alliance passive mass murder through non-supply of life-sustaining requisites). The excess deaths and under-5 infant deaths in Iraq under sanctions (1990-2003) total a FURTHER 1.7 million and 1.2 million, respectively (for details and documentation see: http://mwcnews.net/content/view/13296/42/ ). White Australians vigorously claim to be non-racists but are complicit in horrendous excess deaths associated with post-1950 US Asian wars that now (mid-2007) total 19 million. I have described this bizarre ignoring and denial as "politically correct racism" (PC racism) in which a group asserts non-racism but is complicit in horrendous crimes against people of another race. Australian Mainstream media, commentators and politicians studiously IGNORE the carnage of 1.0 million post-invasion excess deaths in Occupied Iraq, notwithstanding that the key scientific data for the post-invasion excess death figure comes from top US medical epidemiologists from the World’s top Public Health School (the Bloomberg School of Public Health, Johns Hopkins University), published peer-reviewed in the top British medical Journal The Lancet and endorsed by 27 top Australian medical experts (for details see MWC News: http://mwcnews.net/content/view/13296/42/ ). History ignored yields history repeated. The outstanding 3-1 victory of the Occupied Iraq football team against Occupier Australia in the Asian Cup in Bangkok on Friday 13 July 2007 (see: here ) reminds us of both past and present horrors and the indomitability of the human spirit. Peace is the only way but silence kills and silence is complicity – we are obliged to tell the truth about horrendous contemporary abuses of humanity and to make appropriate comparisons with events of the past.
