On Friday afternoon the Gaza Strip Prime Minister Isma'il Haniyeh, greeted several Egyptian delegations in his Gaza City office. Several other ministers including members of the Palestinian Legislative Council and PLC, attended the meeting. The delegation from Egypt came in solidarity with the besieged Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.Ismail Haniyeh on behalf of the residents of the Gaza Strip stated his appreciation for the Egyptian support. Haniyeh also said that in spite of the Israelis assassinations and terror campaigns, the Palestinian people will not surrender to external pressure and the Gaza Strip government will remain steadfast."We will not accept a fragmented solution and the least of our demands is the lifting of the siege on the Gaza Strip,"Ismail Haniyeh concluded.
The Egyptian president, Hosny Mubarak announced on Friday, that the Egyptians welcomeHamas and Fatah to Cairo for mediation's to end the political stalemate that began in June last year, when Hamas took over the control of a Gaza Strip, reared by violent infighting. Mubarak said he had asked both parties to resume a dialogue without pre-conditions.But the Fatah controlled Palestinian Authority in Ramallah has rejected an unconditioned dialogue - demanding Hamas to relinquish its control of the Gaza Strip.Hosny Mubarak have made statements saying that the inter-Palestinian failure to agree not only undermining the Palestinian position, but also lessen the strenght of Arab dedication and efforts to work out a strategy for the Palestinian cause.
Hamas has welcomed Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak's call for the resumption of dialogue between Hamas and Fatah.Sami Abu Zuhri, the Hamas spokesman, said in a statement that Hamas urges Fatah to accept the invitation to the meetings that will be held in Cairo. The situation in the Palestinian territories demands the restoration of Palestinian unity in order to face the Israelis aggression and siege. He concluded that Fatah movement will be held responsible for a resurgence of divisions into factions in the Palestinian relations if Fatah refuse to participate in the Egyptian - sponsored negotiations. Regarding the Rafah border crossing between Egypt and Gaza Strip,Abu Zuhri said "Of couse the Gaza Strip government is interested in safety at Egyptian-Palestinian borders - however the Rafah crossing terminal should re -open as soon as possible."
Mahmoud Abbas of the Fatah controlled Palestinian Authority in Ramallah, was speaking on Saturday in a conference entitled " Jerusalem is Ours".When he in his speech began the backstabbing of Hamas, Abbas in a flawed and deceitful manner evaded the true background to the eruption of the internal fighting last year. The violence caused the broad death to all sides and the destruction of the Palestinian unity, Abbas said that,"There will be no dialogue with Hamas until they return the Gaza Strip to Palestinian Authority control."
Abbas accused Hamas of criminal acts against the Palestinian people and their unity and hopes for establishing an independent state. However he said, "Hamas is part of the Palestinian people which nobody can deny. If your son commits a crime you punish him, and the same applies to Hamas". In his speech, the obtruder [self-imposed "father") of the Palestinian people, Mr Mahmoud Abbas was deceitfully evading the correct circumstances and events leading up to the eruption of the internal fighting in Gaza City in May last year. A violence that caused the fatal death of many Palestinians of all political fractions and the ruination of the newborn Palestinian parliamentary unity and the Palestinian economy.
Mahmoud Abbas also demanded Hamas to stop firing homemade projectiles at Israeli targets from the Gaza Strip, stating that -"We tell the launchers of these projectiles to stop doing so because that gives the Israelis a pretext and shows the residents of Sderot as victims. After Abbas held his speech in Ramallah, the Al-Aqsa Brigades of Fatah, on Saturday afternoon, claimed responsibility for firing two projectiles at the Israeli town of Sderot - in a justified retaliation to the Israelis continued atrocities against the Gaza Strip and the WestBank. Israeli bombardments and missile attacks has killed scores of fighters from all Palestinian factions, including Fatah and Hamas, Islamic Jihad and PRC.The Al-Aqsa Brigades said on Saturday they will continue to launch projectiles, as well as conduct "qualitative military operations." until the Israelis cease their killing campaigns and close the end of the occupation.
