Interview: Jassim Al Shammari / Amman

Sheikh Dr. Nasser al-Omar clarified that "Iran is the biggest wage-earners by the U.S. occupation of Iraq. Iraq was, as we all know, the traditional adversary of Iran and preventing her from the expansion in the Arab region It is no less a witness to that of the first Gulf War between Iraq and Iran lasted for more than eight years.".

Sheikh evaluated the authoriziaton of some factions of the Iraqi resistance to Sheikh Harith al-Dari their spokesman as "a step towards unifying the factions of resistance and its approach to the rational base and a clear road which is a profit and positiveness that must be sought and adhered to achieve goals and a free, proud, Muslim Iraq will return."

Sheikh Prof. Dr. Nasser bin Suleiman bin Mohammed al Omar is from the tribe known as Bani Khalid, born in 1952 in the village of al Maridisiyah in al Buraidah city, al Qassim region. He completed his secondary education in 1390 hegira from the Institute of Riyadh scientific, and finished his university studies in the Faculty of Sharia in 1394 H. Then he chose to be lecturer at the University of Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic, Faculty of Theology, Department of the Quran and its Sciences, he received a master's degree from the Faculty of Theology Department of the Quran and its Sciences in 1979. He earned a doctorate degree from the Faculty of Theology Department of the Quran and its Sciences in 1984. He was appointed assistant professor in the Department of the Quran and its Sciences in 1984, was promoted to the degree of Associate Professor in 1989, was promoted to the degree of Professor in 1993.

A number of his books including: Moderation in the Holy Quran, Surat Al-Hujurat and an analytical study and its objective, the Covenant and the Charter in the Koran, Analysis of the book "al Bourhan in Mutashabih al Qur’an" of Mahmoud bin Hamza al Karamani, Investigation and study of the first part of (Bab al Tafseer/ interpretation) of Mahmoud bin Hamza al Karamani. He completed to explain from the perspective of a Muslim teaching in the process of review and corrections.

In addition to the dozens of booklets he is the general supervisor of the internet page of the Muslim. It is a scientific da’wah, information platform representing the interface information for the scientific institutions, educational and social da’wah.

Jassim al-Shammari the correspondent of HEYET Net in Amman had the following interview with Sheikh al Omar:

HEYET Net: How do you look at the Iraqi scene after six years of the occupation?

Sheikh Nasser al-Omar: Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the, and I testify that there is no God but Allah, and I testify that Muhammad is His servant and His Messenger, may Allah bless him, his family and companions...

At the beginning of my speech, I thank the brothers in the Association of Muslim Scholars in Iraq (HEYET) for their confidence and their call for this interview. I also commend them for their efforts and attitudes which are still fixed by the praise of God in the Jihad against the American-Iranian occupation of Iraq and the anti-colonial projects. My respected brother...

Six years have passed since the U.S. occupation, which is a long time on that and started to date, and is filled with blood and tears, which lost hundreds of thousands of lives and destroyed the country, residential infrastructure, even returned to Iraq a hundred years back, as if it does not belong to this age. The severity of destruction and terrorism, looting and robbery perpetrated by the U.S. occupation and his aides and collaborators are more systematic.

All this are based on the arguments and flimsy excuses which were confessed by the previous U.S. administration with its vexatious lies and actions without shame or modesty. From the beginning of the occupation till now the Iraqi citizens live in a climate of fear, humiliation and starvation, so that the most of their enemies the late President Saddam Hussein is now wished to return from what they see the severity of the suffering in every aspect of their lives.

Alleged American democracy paradise is not achieved; the security and stability is not achieved, economic improvement is not achieved, even in the most basic necessities of life like food, clothing and medicine are not achieved!

It is one side. On the other sides, sectarianism has been active under the American occupation. The work of sectarian leaders and soldiers in the alliance is explicit and clear with the U.S. occupation forces to target the Iraqi people, killing of its citizens, even women and children, and the targeting of symbols and their leaders, the destruction of institutions and centers… The murders have become even based on identity. There is no power except Allah!

But with that, I believe that, despite the passing of six years, however, the project of the American hegemony over the region, beginning from Iraq, has not been completed as planned by its planners. Because there had the privilege of Mujaheds in Iraq to resist against the occupation, and the disruption of its projects and delaying its expansion, which was known as the Greater Middle East, and redrawing the political map of the region.

After these long years, however, only the Mujahideen - praise be to Allah - are still steadfast in their resistance. They did not put their weapons of the resistance, did not bow to the terms of the occupation, and are still trying to aim large, a withdrawal of American forces, and the defeat of their alliances and their agents until the Iraqis govern their country by themselves away from the foreign interventions whether close one or far away.

HEYET Net: Do you believe that the resistance thwarted American expansion in the region?

Sheikh Nasser al-Omar: the resistance worked in a very strong block the American project and the delaying it in some aspects.

HEYET Net : What Iran gained from the U.S. occupation of Iraq?

Sheikh Nasser al-Omar: I think that Iran is most beneficiary of the U.S. occupation of Iraq. As we know, Iraq has traditionally been against Iran, and preventing him from the expansion in the Arab region, and it is no less a witness to that of the first Gulf War between Iraq and Iran which lasted for more than eight years.

The American occupation came to Iraq and gave the country as the gift on a gold platter to Iran, and Iraq has become permissible for the fever of the Iranian presence in all its forms and manifestations: from the military presence, in the form of militias which re-assures its loyalty to Iran, intelligence presence, and flow through the popular open immigration and control over business.  Even the case reached at as we have heard that the governmental and business dealings in the city of Basra in southern Iraq were conducted in Farsi!

HEYET Net: What is your thinking of the situation in Iraq after U.S. withdrawal, if it occurs, from the cities?

Sheikh Nasser al-Omar: What it seems so far is that so-called American withdrawal is just redeployment. Because the presence of American forces in the military headquarters of certain parts of Iraq in order to preserve American military control of the country is still valid, they will be over the management of internal and external affairs in their hands of a formality as it is certain now. Therefore, we do not expect a significant change in the next phase of what is happening now.

HEYET Net: Which is more dangerous... U.S. occupation or Iran's penetration?

Sheikh Nasser al-Omar: There is no doubt that the U.S. occupation is from the cradle of Iranian infiltration. It has been agreed between the political interests of America and Iran to bring down the regime of Saddam Hussein, the invasion of Iraq, and the empowerment of "a certain sect" from the rule of the day the regime fell in Iraq to that time

But it is no doubt that the Iranian penetration is the most dangerous and lethal than the American occupation. Because the American occupation not matter how does it take it is strange and foreign of the people of Iraq. All the people of the region will stay at military presence in primarily, but the greatest threat is the Iranian occupation, the State of Iran adjacent to Iraq, very close to the other GCC countries, with men and their community in Iraq who could be employed in favor of military action, or calls to change the ethnic identity of the country and religion. It has also ambitions to be economic, this is not a hidden one, but the project is strategic to the Iranian regime: this is known as the export of revolution, as announced by Khomeini without equivocation.

HEYET Net: What is your assessment of the Arab role in resolving the Iraqi crisis?

Sheikh Nasser al-Omar: I think that the role of Arab and regional states had been negative from the beginning of the crisis, and if I talk about achieved and a clear strategic vision, there should have to an important role in conflict management, unfortunately, the consequence is what we see now from the threat of strategic interests, not just this, probably the threat of its presence ; because of the expansion of Iran in Iraq, and the proliferation of sectarianism and politics in Syria, Lebanon and the insurgency movements in Yemen and elsewhere.

HEYET Net: How do you evaluate the authorization of the jihadi factions to Sheikh Dhari to be speaking on their behalf?

Sheikh Nasser al-Omar: We have appraised those good initiatives from the jihad forces. We believe that every step is towards unification of the resistance factions and its approach to the rational base and  a clear and positive road that are positive gains which must be sought and adhered to achieve goals a free, proud and Muslim Iraq.

HEYET Net: What do you say to the Iraqi resistance?

Sheikh Nasser al-Omar: I invite all the resistance factions to comply with Allah (swt) in their work and their words. Their resistance to the occupier should be the jihad for the sake of Allah (swt). They should beware of being led astray by some of the partisan or factional, regional purposes. They should be avoid not to mixing up the flags, and do not rush to do the work that does not adjust adequately to Islamic Shaira standards, although the intentions are good and noble purposes. They must be seeking to meet and unite, and not resistance to the occupation forces engaged in conflicts on the side, or peripheral issues.
