Hit.

Resistance sharpshooter kills two US troops in Hit.

An Iraqi Resistance sharpshooter shot and killed two US occupation troops at midday on Friday on a street in the western Iraqi city of Hit, 300km west of Baghdad.

Residents of the city who witnessed the attack told Mafkarat al-Islam that a Resistance sharpshooter shot the two US troops in the al-Jary area in the middle of the city as American forces were carrying out searches in the area.

After the attack, which took place at 2pm local time Friday, American forces encircled the area and started searching for the Resistance sharpshooter, but found nothing.

As-Saqlawiyah.

Resistance bomb kills four US troops on rural road Friday.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a column of six US Humvees in the as-Saqlawiyah area north of al-Fallujah, 50km west of Baghdad, at 1pm Friday local time. Owners of groves in the as-Saqlawiyah area who witnessed the bombing told Mafkarat al-Islam that the explosive device was planted in the middle of an unpaved rural road and that it blew up under one of the American vehicles in the column, totally destroying it and killing its crew of four.

After the attack, US troops encircled the area and launched a wave of arrests of Iraqi youths who happened to be in the nearby areas, accusing them of planning attacks on US occupation forces.

Al-'Amiriyah.

Resistance ambush leaves six US troops dead Friday morning.

Iraqi Resistance fighters, armed with medium weapons such as RPG7 rocket-propelled grenades and pipe rockets, attacked a US armored column in al-'Amiriyah, west of Baghdad at 10am local time Friday morning.

The attack left one armored vehicle ablaze and totally destroyed a Humvee. Six US troops were killed in the attack and four more wounded. Residents of the area who witnessed the attack told Mafkarat al-Islam that the Resistance fighters attacked a column of four armored vehicles and four US Humvees as they were going along the main road between al-'Amiriyah and Abu Ghurayb in the environs of Baghdad.

After the attack, US forces encircled the area and prevented journalists from approaching.

Ar-Ramadi.

Four US troops killed in morning bombing near ar-Ramadi.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a column of three US armored vehicles and two Humvees at 9am Friday morning local time, totally destroying one US armored vehicle.

The ar-Ramadi correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported local people who witnessed the blast as saying that the bomb was planted by the side of a rural road in the al-Jazirah area northwest of the city, and that the blast killed four American troops and wounded three more who were aboard the vehicle.

Al-Baghdadi.

Resistance blasts 'Ayn al-Asad base Friday morning.

Iraqi Resistance forces bombarded the US 'Ayn al-Asad base in al-Baghdadi, west of Baghdad at 7am Friday, local time, with eight medium-range Katyusha rockets. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the barrage sent plumes of smoke billowing into the sky over the American-occupied facility.

Residents of the city told Mafkarat al-Islam that eight violent explosions shook the base, followed by secondary blasts, whose source was not known for certain, but which probably were American munitions going off. After that flames and smoke rose over the base.

American helicopters flew in at low altitude over the American-occupied facility and the surrounding area, but no information on the extent of US casualties and damage was available.

Baghdad.

Saddam Hussein, unbroken by US imprisonment, torture, set terms for any talks with US in reported prison meeting with Donald Rumsfeld.

Iraqi sources in the Jordanian capital 'Amman that are close to the Arab Baath Socialist Party have disclosed that leading cadres of the Baath party have been reporting that during his latest visit to occupied Iraq, American Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld visited Iraqi President Saddam Hussein in prison at Saddam International Airport.

Saddam Hussein, still the legal President of Iraq, on Thursday marked his 68th birthday like the state of Iraq itself, as a prisoner of the occupation.

In a report carried in Thursday’s edition of the London-based al-Quds al-'Arabi newspaper, the sources are quoted as saying that during the meeting, Rumsfeld asked the Iraqi President to deliver a televised address to the Iraqi Resistance fighters calling on them to halt all armed operations against US occupation forces and puppet troops. In return, the American Secretary of Defense promised to release the imprisoned Iraqi leaders and transport them to another country where they could live in exile. Alternatively, Rumsfeld is said to have offered that imprisoned Iraqi leaders be allowed to take part, in one way or another, in the US controlled Iraqi government, subject to negotiations with the American stooge parties in that regard.

The sources are unanimous in reporting that Iraqi President Saddam Hussein totally rejected Rumsfeld’s offer, responding instead with his own conditions for talks.

President Saddam Hussein told Rumsfeld that the only thing he would accept would be for negotiations to begin with the imprisoned Iraqi leaders for the withdrawal of US and stooge forces from Iraq, the compensation of the country for the material and moral losses it has suffered since the start of the US embargo imposed in August 1990, and the abrogation of all laws and regulations decreed after the occupation of Baghdad on 9 April 2003.

President Saddam Hussein had met with Rumsfeld before, in 1984, when the latter was an adviser in the reactionary Ronald Reagan administration. Sources report that at that time Rumsfeld conceived an intense dislike of the Iraqi President who showed his country’s independence of the American superpower by deliberately delaying his meeting with the Reagan emissary, leaving Rumsfeld to wait alone in the meeting hall for a long period.

Resistance bomb west of Abu Ghurayb kills two US troops Friday afternoon.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a passing patrol of four US Humvees in the al-Bu Munaysir agricultural area west of Abu Ghurayb at 2pm Friday afternoon, local time. Owners of agricultural fields in the area who witnessed the attack told Mafkarat al-Islam that the bomb was planted by the side of the main road in the area and that the blast set one Humvee ablaze and killed two US troops and wounded three more.

Two US troops killed in Resistance attack on American convoy midday Friday.

Iraqi Resistance forces, equipped with light arms and medium weapons such as RPG7 rocket-propelled grenades, attacked a US military convoy in the at-Taji area north of Baghdad. Residents of the ad-Dulayimah area of at-Taji said that the Resistance fighters attacked the column of American military trucks loaded with equipment and supples for the US troops at 1pm local time Friday. The Resistance attack destroyed two US trucks and killed two American soldiers.

They described the injuries suffered by one of the wounded Americans as "serious."

US troops arrest 30 worshippers, prayer leaders in mosques in Baghdad.

US occupation troops backed by puppet so-called "Iraqi national guards" stormed mosques and arrested 30 preachers and worshippers in a campaign of raids on mosques in the areas of al-Ghzaliyah and Nafaq ash-Shurtah in the western part of Baghdad on Friday.

Four Resistance car bombs strike puppet police, "national guard" targets early Friday.

Four Iraqi Resistance car bombs struck puppet police and puppet so-called "Iraqi national guard" targets in Baghdad on Friday morning, killing at least 10 persons, the Iraqi puppet police announced according to a Reuters report. The attacks, in which 33 were wounded, took place in Baghdad’s al-A'zamiyah district. The puppet police said that one of the car bombs targeted a restaurant crowded with puppet police and puppet "national guards."

Earlier, Reuters had reported that witnesses reported a series of explosions had rocked Baghdad. It appeared that at least some of the blasts were close to the Republican Palace area where the US occupation has it headquarters in the area that the invaders call the "green zone."

Reuters reported that in addition to the blasts in the area of the green zone, other explosions rocked areas in the east of the occupied Iraqi capital.

British newspaper: agents infiltrated by Iran control Iraqi puppet security forces.

The British newspaper the Daily Telegraph published a report on Friday noting that the puppet "government" rubber stamped by the puppet "national assembly"appointed Baqir Sulagh, a member of the Shi'i chauvinist "Supreme Council for the Islamic Revolution in Iraq" (SCIRI) as "interior minister."

The appointment makes official what has already largely been a fact on the ground, namely that the chauvinist Badr Brigades, the armed wing of the SCIRI, control the puppet police and the internal security system of occupied Iraq.

The British newspaper noted that the SCIRI is "loathed by many ordinary Iraqis as its leaders spent two decades in exile in Iran and its 10,000-member paramilitary wing the Badr Brigade, fought against Iraq in the Iran-Iraq war."

The Daily Telegraph report was apparently prompted by American concerns about a rise in Iranian influence in Iraq, something that Washington has directly encouraged, in particular when the Badr Brigades joined American forces during the invasion and occupation of Iraq beginning in the spring of 2003. Nevertheless, many in the US leadership, keen to keep Iraq securely under US-Zionist control, are concerned over the increasing competition they are now getting from Iran for the goods they are stealing from the Iraqi people.

The Daily Telegraph reflected that American concern when it reported that "US government figures have recently alleged that intelligence reports document an Iranian espionage campaign, . . . that reveal that many Iranian agents are in SCIRI’s Badr Brigades and its operatives have been instructed to infiltrate 'Iraqi’ security agencies."

Naturally, it would be naïve to assume that Americans have only now discovered the link between Iran and the SCIRI which spent 20 years under arms fighting for the Tehran regime’s interests. Furthermore, the Daily Telegraph admits that the last US puppet ruler of Iraq, Iyyad 'Allawi, who was not a member of SCIRI, had himself argued that enlisting the Badr Brigades in the Iraqi puppet security services was "essential to provide a backbone of experienced officers in the fight against" the Resistance. In other words, when patriots refuse to fight for the US occupation, and American troops being bloodied in Resistance assaults every day, it is difficult for the occupiers and their stooges to avoid making use of 10,000 traitors with military experience.

The Daily Telegraph article is evidence, however, of growing concern in the Zionist-American camp about rising Iranian involvement in the puppet regime they have installed in Baghdad.

Iran welcomes US-installed puppet regime in Iraq, offers "broad cooperation in all fields" with American stooges.

Not unexpectedly, the Iranian President Muhammad Khatimi on Friday expressed his complete satisfaction with the puppet regime installed in Baghdad under the aegis of the US occupation, a "government" dominated by members of the Shi ' chauvinist and Iranian-backed so-called Supreme Council for the Islamic Revolution in Iraq" (SCIRI). Iranian President Khatimi said that the formation of the "government" will "allow broad cooperation between Tehran and Baghdad to begin."

In a letter Khatimi sent to the puppet so-called "Iraqi prime minister" Ibrahim al-Ja'fari, and reported by the Iranian media, Khatimi said that "the Iranian government for its part is ready to cooperate with the Iraqi government on all levels, whether in the area of politics or the economy, and we hope that the new Iraq will desire to strengthen relations with its neighbors on the basis of mutual respect."

Khatimi said in his letter that the sham election held under the guns of the US occupation which produced the incoming "government" of Ibrahim al-Ja'fari was a "very encouraging thing" for Iran.

Babil Province.

Al-Latifiyah.

Resistance bomb kills three US troops Friday morning.

An Iraq Resistance roadside bomb exploded by a patrol of four US Humvees on the main road in al-Latifiyah, south of Baghdad, at 9am Friday morning, local time. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported witnesses as saying that the blast destroyed one Humvee and killed three US troops and wounded a fourth.

Al-Yusufiyah.

Double Resistance attack leaves more than nine US troops dead Friday afternoon.

Iraqi Resistance forces carried out a double attack on a military column of five personnel carriers, two armored vehicles, and two Humvees in the city of al-Yusufiyah, 20km south of Baghdad after noon on Friday.

The al-Yusufiyah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a member of the puppet so-called "rapid deployment force" as saying that that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by the US column on the main road linking Baghdad with areas to the south at 3pm Friday afternoon, local time. The blast disabled one American armored vehicle and killed or wounded a number of US troops.

Then, as the American soldiers were pulling the bodies of the dead and wounded out of the wrecked vehicle, Resistance fighters armed with light and medium weapons including RPG7 rocket-propelled grenades and C5K rockets attacked the column, destroying one personnel carrier and killing more than nine American soldiers. Two of the Resistance fighters were martyred in the battle.

US forces then came and encircled the area, closing the road leading to the region where the attack took place. The Americans also prevented journalists from approaching, but several US helicopters could be seen landing in the area of the attack to load up the dead and wounded Americans.

In a dispatch posted at 12:05pm Mecca time Friday, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance car bomb exploded by a joint US-Iraqi puppet force patrol in the city of al-Mada’in, southeast of Baghdad. Members of the puppet so-called "Iraqi national guard" told Mafkarat al-Islam that a car was parked by the side of the road and that it exploded as the joint patrol was passing. The sources said that the blast killed four US troops and wounded another three Americans. In addition, two Iraqi puppet troops were killed and four more were wounded, most of them severely.

A source in the Iraqi puppet police said that the car bomb was detonated by remote-control and that the Americans were unable to capture the Resistance fighter who set it off.

Iraqi Resistance forces fired four medium-range rockets, believed to be of the Grad type, into the US base in Ba'qubah, 60km northeast of Baghdad, at 1:30pm Friday local time.

Witnesses told Mafkarat al-Islam that they heard four violent explosions shake the area of the base and saw thick clouds of smoke rising over the US-occupied facility. American helicopters came in to prowl the area above the base and the environs, searching for the Resistance fighters who launched the attack. They failed to find anything, however.

Puppet police kill Sunni Religious leader in Ba'qubah Friday.

Shaykh 'Abd ar-Razzaq ad-Dulaymi, a member of the Board of Muslim 'Ulama’ Scholars the supreme Sunni religious authority in Iraq, was shot killed on Friday by bullets from the Iraqi puppet police.

Sources close to Shaykh ad-Dulaymi told the Qatari News Agency that the puppet police shot ad-Dulaymi in the course of trying to arrest him in Ba'qubah.

Puppet security sources claimed that ad-Dulaymi threw one hand grenade and then blew himself up with another during a confrontation with the Iraqi puppet security forces.

Salah ad-Din Province.

Bayji.

Seven American troops reported killed in Resistance bombardment of US base.

Iraqi Resistance forces shelled the US base in the as-Siniyah area west of Bayji with six heavy 120mm mortar rounds at 9am Friday morning, local time. The correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the barrage left seven American troops dead and more than 10 more wounded.

A member of the puppet so-called "Iraqi national guard" said that four of the mortar rounds blasted into a military barracks by the entrance to the camp, and it was there that many casualties were inflicted in the American ranks.

Samarra’.

Resistance car bomb kills three US troops midday Friday.

An Iraqi Resistance car bomb parked by the side of the road exploded as a US patrol passed the western entrance to the city of Samarra’ (120km north of Baghdad) at noon on Friday.

Witnesses in the as-Sikak neighborhood in western Samarra’ told Mafkarat al-Islam that the bomb exploded by a convoy of four American armored vehicles at 1pm local time, setting one vehicle ablaze and killing three American troops. Three more US soldiers were wounded in the bombing.

At-Tarimiyah.

Resistance car bomber kills five US troops in at-Tarimiyah Friday afternoon.

An Iraqi Resistance martyrdom fighter drove a red explosives-laden Opel car into a US armored column in the at-Tarimiyah area just north of Baghdad. Local residents who witnessed the attack told Mafkarat al-Islam that the Resistance bomber detonated his car near a US armored vehicle in a column of four armored vehicles and two Humvees at 4pm local time Friday afternoon. The blast destroyed one American armored vehicle and disabled another, killing five American troops and wounding four more.

Ninwa Province.

Mosul.

Resistance martyrdom car bomber kills five US troops in Mosul Friday morning.

An Iraqi Resistance martyrdom fighter drove an explosives-laden car into a column of four US troop transports and two Humvees in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul at 10am Friday morning, local time.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam in Mosul reported that the attack destroyed one personnel carrier and killed five US troops. Another four more American soldiers were wounded.

The correspondent reported members of the local puppet police as saying that a Resistance fighter accelerated his white Supra to very high speed and blasted into a US column on the main road in the al-Islah az-Zira'i neighborhood northwest of Mosul. American troops opened fire at the car as it raced towards them but it only veered towards the middle of the column where it blew up.

Al-Basrah Province.

Al-Basrah.

Three British soldiers killed in Resistance bombing Friday morning south of al-Basrah.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a patrol of four British armored vehicles in the as-Saybah area south of al-Basrah at 9am Friday morning. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported local residents who witnessed the attack as saying that the bomb was planted by the side of the main road in the area and that the blast destroyed one British armored vehicle and killed three British troops. Two more British soldiers were wounded in the explosion.

After the attack, British occupation forces surrounded the area and launched a campaign of searches, looking for the Resistance fighters who planted the bomb. They found nothing, however.

Resistance bomb kills one puppet soldier in al-Basrah Friday afternoon.

In a dispatch posted at 4:40pm Mecca time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a patrol of the puppet so-called Iraqi national gaurds near the al-Fayha’ Hospital (formerly the Iraqi Military Hospital) in al-Basrah. A spokesman for the puppet "national guards" in al-Basrah told Mafkarat al-Islam that the attack killed one member of the puppet patrol and wounded two more.

The blast followed a campaign launched by the puppet guards against the local Sunni community in which 13 prominent Sunni religious leaders were arrested, all from the Abu al-Khasib area. The local Sunnis, in fact have come to refer to the "national guards" as the "Sectarian Army" since most of its personnel are members of the Shi'i chauvinist Badr Brigades.

Obviously the arrests of Sunni religious leaders have failed to inhibit the Resistance attacks that continue to be mounted in the al-Basrah area.
