Al-Anbar Province.

Al-Fallujah.

Mortar round leaves four US troops dead in al-Fallujah Monday evening.

In a dispatch posted at 7:30pm Mecca time Monday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while before Iraqi Resistance forces fired a mortar round into a US checkpoint at the eastern approaches to the city of al-Fallujah. A source in the Iraqi puppet police told Mafkarat al-Islam that the attack killed four US troops and wounded several more.

Afterwards, American forces cut the road leading to the checkpoint and called in helicopters that overflew particularly the southern parts of the city. The Americans evacuated their casualties to the American base in the agricultural area east of the city and left a force of Iraqi puppet troops at the location of the former checkpoint.

Al-Khalidiyah.

Resistance bombards US barracks east of al-Khalidiyah late Monday afternoon.

Iraqi Resistance forces fired six 82mm mortar rounds into a US barracks located by the al-Fahhamah Bridge east of al-Khalidiyah at about 6pm Monday afternoon. Residents of al-Khalidiyah told Mafkarat al-Islam that the barrage disabled one US Humvee and killed four American soldiers and wounded five more.

Baghdad.

Nine prisoners, including Resistance commanders, break out of Abu Ghurayb.

Nine prisoners being held in the notorious Abu Ghurayb prison camp near Baghdad managed to escape, prompting a large-scale American manhunt in the areas around the facility on Monday.

A captain in the puppet forces told Mafkarat al-Islam that the prisoners got out through a 40-meter long tunnel from inside the prison to the outside. The source said that three of the escapees were leaders of the Army of the Partisans of the Sunnah and First Army of Muhammad Resistance organizations.

US forces were deployed in very large numbers Monday morning throughout the town of Abu Ghurayb and in nearby neighborhoods where they were intensely searching houses and farm fields for the men.

In a dispatch posted at 9:50am Mecca time Monday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while before the American occupation forces in the occupation headquarters in the so-called "green zone" area of the Republican Palace had issued a statement admitting that a number of prisoners had broken out of the American prison. The US statement concealed the number of those who managed to regain their freedom.

Resistance bomb kills seven US troops in Abu Ghurayb Monday afternoon.

An Iraqi Resistance land mine exploded under an American patrol in the Abu Ghurayb area, 30km west of Baghdad at 2pm local time Monday afternoon.

Captain Sa'di Husayn of the puppet so-called "rapid deployment" forces told Mafkarat al-Islam that the explosive was planted under the asphalt in the road and expertly concealed and that it was detonated by remote control. He added that the blast killed seven US soldiers and seriously wounded four more.

The correspondent reported that the First Army of Muhammad Resistance organization distributed a communiqué in the Abu Ghurayb grand mosque in which it took responsibility for the attack.

US troops attack Ibn Taymiyah Mosque in Baghdad Monday afternoon.

In a bulletin posted at 3:55pm Mecca time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while before US occupation troops had encircled the Ibn Taymiyah Mosque in the al-Yarmuk section of downtown Baghdad. Witnesses told the correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam that the Americans had completely closed off the al-Yarmuk area, not letting anyone in or out, and were trying to storm into the mosque and were claiming that Resistance fighters – whom they call "terrorists" were inside.

Puppet regime troops ransack Sunni mosques, put up posters of pro-US Shi'i cleric.

In another manifestation of official efforts by the US-backed Shi'i chauvinist regime of Ibrahim al-Ja'fari to incite sectarian conflict in Iraq, forces of the puppet so-called "wolf brigade" (a part of the puppet so-called "Iraqi national guard") – which is made up of members of the Shi'i chauvinist Badr Brigade and Da'wah Party militias – stormed into more than 10 Sunni mosques in Baghdad on the excuse that they were refuges for Resistance fighters.

The puppet troops ransacked the mosques, breaking doors and attacking the worshippers and custodians working there. After finishing their "search" the puppet regime soldiers then pasted up posters bearing the portrait of pro-American Shi'i clerical authority 'Ali as-Sistani on the mosque wall as a provocation to the Sunni population, witnesses and informed sources told Mafkarat al-Islam.

The puppet regime of Ibrahim al-Ja'fari denied that any such thing had happened, so the Mafkarat al-Islam website published photographs of the posters on the walls of mosques after the raids by the puppet regime’s forces. They were pasted on the inner and outer doors of the mosque.

US troops arrest, then release, Sunni collaborationist party chief.

Reuters reported a spokesman for the Sunni so-called "Islamic Party" as saying that US troops arrested the party’s leader, Muhsin 'Abd al-Hamid from his home in Baghdad on Monday morning along with his three sons and eight body guards. No reason was given for the arrest.

Hours later Reuters reported Hajim al-Hasani, the chairman of the collaborationist so-called "Iraqi national association" as saying that 'Abd al-Hamid had been released after a few hours in detention. 'Abd al-Hamid later told the press that the Americans had taken him, bound and blindfolded, to be questioned concerning his party’s polices and attitude towards the Resistance.

An American report, that preceded 'Abd al-Hamid’s press statements, said that the collaborationist leader had been arrested "by mistake" and it apologized for any inconvenience they might have caused him.

For his part Kurdish chauvinist leader and American puppet "president of Iraq" Jalal at-Talibani issued a "presidential council" statement earlier on Monday expressing shock and displeasure over 'Abd al-Hamid’s arrest and calling for his immediate release.

'Ammar al-Hakim of the Shi'i chauvinist Supreme Council for the Islamic Revolution in Iraq (SCIRI) – whose Badr Brigades joined the US army in its invasion of Iraq in spring 2003 - also denounced the arrest of 'Abd al-Hamid.

The so-called "Islamic Party" was formed out of the Iraqi Muslim Brotherhood that took a collaborationist line after the US invasion in spring 2003. The party chief served on US proconsul L. Paul Bremer’s corrupt sectarian cabinet. It frequently sought to serve as an "intermediary" between the occupation and the Resistance in al-Fallujah, where it tried to foist US plans on to the Resistance. It has continued to work for Sunni participation in the US puppet administration and "political process." As Resistance in the country grew, the party felt a need to cover its open collaborationism and joined those who boycotted the "election" farce staged by the Americans on 30 January 2005.

Shi'i chauvinist puppet regime releases 500 Iranian illegal immigrants from Iraq prisons.

The Shi'i chauvinist regime of US puppet "prime minister" Ibrahim al-Ja'fari ordered the release of 500 Iranians who had entered Iraq illegally and been detained by US occupation troops. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported an official source in the puppet "government," who asked not to be identified, said that the regime had ordered the release of the Iranians, all of whom were picked up at public sites and in hotels without visas or legal documents. The regime claimed that they were not involved in any sorts of sabotage activity in occupied Iraq.

Another source in the public relations department of the puppet so-called "Iraqi ministry of defense" told Mafkarat al-Islam that the release was ordered after pro-American Shi'i cleric 'Ali as-Sistani (who functions in Iraq but is himself an Iranian citizen) personally requested the release of the undocumented Iranians after the visit of the Iranian Foreign Minister to Baghdad last week for talks with as-Sistani.

Observers note that prisons in occupied Iraq are crammed full of Arabs who are in the country legally and with complete documentation but whose releases have been rejected by the occupation regime, despite the puppet prosecutor’s office establishing that they had no connection with armed activities.

Babil Province.

Al-Yusufiyah.

Five US troops reported killed in car bombing in al-Yusufiyah Monday afternoon.

An Iraqi Resistance martyrdom fighter in al-Yusufiyah drove a black explosives-packed Opel car into a column of six US armored vehicles on the main road to Baghdad and exploded at about 5pm Monday afternoon local time.

A source in the puppet so-called "Iraqi interior ministry" in Baghdad said that 27 persons were killed and 118 others wounded in the blasts outside the Babil Province governorate building in al-Hillah on Monday morning.

The director of al-Hillah Hospital said that 100 wounded persons were brought into his facility, among them 20 puppet policemen in extremely serious condition. Agence France Presse (AFP) reported that the two bombs exploded within 20 seconds of each other when 500 former puppet policemen of the elite "shock troops" force were rallying to demand their jobs back.

The Resistance organization Base Qa 'idah of the Jihad in the Land of the Two Rivers announced its responsibility for the explosions in two separate communiqués published on the internet.

Diyala Province.

Ba'qubah.

Resistance car bomb leaves six US troops dead in Ba'qubah Monday morning.

An Iraqi Resistance car bomb exploded by an American military column in downtown Ba'qubah Monday morning. Witnesses told Mafkarat al-Islam that an explosives-packed Kia sedan that was parked by the side of a road blew up as a patrol of four US armored vehicles was passing by. The blast destroyed one Humvee and disabled a second, killing six American soldiers and wounding four more.

Afterwards, at about 9:30am Monday morning local time, US forces surrounded the area and called in two Apache helicopters that landed and loaded up the dead and wounded. Other US troops then mounted a campaign of arrests of owners of taxi drivers operating out of the Ba'qubah garage, but offered no reason for the arrests.

The Army of the Partisans of the Sunnah Prophet’s Practice announced its responsibility for the attack in a communiqué, a copy of which was obtained by the correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam.

Khanaqin.

Aircraft of Iraqi puppet regime with four Americans aboard crashes near Iranian border midday Monday.

An aircraft belonging to the Iraqi puppet regime crashed near the town of Khanaqin near the Iranian border shortly before noon on Monday. The US military issued a statement saying that the aircraft was carrying a crew of four American military personnel and one Iraqi when it went down during a dust storm.

Reuters reported that it was not immediately clear whether the aircraft was a helicopter or a fixed-wing airplane. The American statement said that local forces had secured the crash zone, but made no mention of the fate of those aboard.

Salah ad-Din Province.

Samarra’.

Resistance pounds US base in Samarra’ Monday afternoon.

Iraqi Resistance forces fired an intensive barrage of more than 20 rockets – believed to be of the Grad and Katyusha type – into the US base in Samarra’, north of Baghdad at 4pm Monday afternoon local time, according to witnesses who spoke with the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in Samarra’.

Flames and clouds of smoke could be seen rising over the US-occupied facility as US helicopters flew in and landed to evacuate dead and wounded, according to witnesses.

Bayji.

Resistance bombards US base west of Bayji Monday.

In a dispatch posted at 3:40pm Mecca time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired 12 mortar rounds into the US base west of Bayji, which lies north of Baghdad.

Witnesses who live in the as-Siniyah area west of Bayji told Mafkarat al-Islam that the bombardment resounded with powerful explosions inside the American base, which were then followed by secondary blasts from US munitions exploding. Plumes of smoke rose into the sky over the American-occupied facility.

Giant American Chinook helicopters, that are generally used to haul away the wreckage and bodies left after attacks, landed inside the base after the attack.

Ninwa Province.

Mosul.

Nine suspected US CIA personnel killed in Mosul car bombing Monday evening.

In a dispatch posted at 7:25pm Mecca time Monday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while before, an Iraqi Resistance martyrdom fighter drove an explosives-laden car into a motorcade of three GMC vehicles that were by the Fifth Bridge proceeding through Mosul towards the heavily wooded area. The attack car blew up, destroying the three GMCs and killing nine Americans and the three Iraqi collaborator drivers of the cars, according to a source in the Iraqi puppet police.

The Resistance organization Base Qa'idah of the Jihad in the Land of the Two Rivers announced its responsibility for the attack, saying that the three GMC cars were carrying American Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) personnel. The announcement came in a communiqué, a copy of which was obtained by Mafkarat al-Islam.

At-Ta’mim Province.

Kirkuk.

Resistance liquidates puppet intelligence chief in Kirkuk.

Iraqi Resistance fighters killed the General Director of Intelligence for the puppet so-called "Iraqi ministry of the interior" in at-Ta’mim Province in Kirkuk on Monday.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam in Kirkuk reported witnesses as saying that Ahmad al-Barzanji, the General Director of Intelligence died on Monday when Resistance fighters fired a rocket at his car as it traveled in a seven-car motorcade. The car was totally destroyed and al-Barzanji along with three other persons was killed. Later the puppet "ministry" issued a statement acknowledging the death.

Al-Barzanji took part with American forces in the first offensive on al-Fallujah in the spring of 2004. In that engagement he served as head of a force of puppet "rapid deployment" troops of the Kurdish chauvinist Peshmergah militia. At the time he was accused of beating men and women refugees from al-Fallujah. The Resistance threatened his life on several occasions and tried to kill him on three prior occasions. Monday, on their fourth attempt, they succeeded.

Irbil Province.

Irbil.

Resistance bombards south Korean base in Irbil Sunday night.

Iraqi Resistance forces fired four rockets into the camp of south Korean invader troops in Irbil, in northern Iraq, late on Sunday night. The American United Press International (UPI) reported a source in the south Korean regime’s invasion contingent as saying that four rockets blasted into the base they occupy at 11pm Sunday night, local time.

The sources said it was likely that the Resistance fired the rockets from some four or five kilometers away. After the attack, US helicopters took off to search for the attackers but found nothing.

Al-Maysan Province.

Seven British soldiers killed in Sunday’s attack in al-'Amarah.
