Al-Anbar Province.

Ar-Rutbah.



Resistance car bomber blasts US column patrolling border with Jordan. Ten Americans killed or wounded.


In a dispatch posted at 12:30pm Mecca time Sunday, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while before, an Iraqi Resistance martyrdom fighter drove an explosives-packed car into an American detachment that was patrolling the Iraq-Jordan border.

Witnesses who were at a fuel station on the border near where the car bombing took place told the correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam in ar-Rutbah that the Resistance car bomber blasted into the US border patrol on the highway leading to Jordan, not far from the border crossing point.

The witnesses reported that the blast destroyed two Humvees, killing or wounding 10 US troops. US Black Hawk Helicopters with red crosses painted on them could be seen landing in the area to evacuate American military dead and wounded.

A source in the puppet so-called "Iraqi rapid deployment force" confirmed to Mafkarat al-Islam that 10 US troops had been killed or wounded in a martyrdom car bombing. He noted that those who were wounded were in serious condition.

For its part, Quds Press reported an Iraqi source in the Taribil border zone as saying that an Iraqi Resistance martyrdom fighter blasted into the Americans as they emerged from the border crossing complex at Taribil, producing a huge explosion and totally destroying three American vehicles before noon Sunday.

The source told Quds Press that the blast took place near a fuel station on the International Highway and that "a number" of US troops were killed or wounded in the powerful explosion. The source was unable to ascertain the number or nature of US casualties because the Americans hurried to shut down the International Highway for two hours immediately after the attack as they evacuated their dead and wounded by Medevac helicopters that landed in the area.

Following the attack, the Americans could be seen moving more patrols into the border area around Taribil, Quds Press reported.


Al-Khalidiyah.


Four Marines reported killed in roadside bombing Sunday morning.


An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US Marine patrol in the city of al-Khalidiyah, west of Baghdad at 9am local time Sunday morning.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in al-Khalidiyah reported that a Resistance bomb that was planted by the side of as-Sakkal Street blew up by the American patrol, destroying one Humvee and killing four Marines.

A source in the Iraqi puppet army told the correspondent that the four Marines died instantly during the attack and that the vehicle in which they were riding was totally destroyed.

For its part, Quds Press reported that one American Marine was killed and three more wounded in varying degrees in the Sunday morning Resistance attack on a US patrol in al-Khalidiyah.

Citing a source in the Iraqi puppet police, Quds Press reported that a bomb blew up near a US column, destroying one Humvee and killing one of the Americans aboard. The source said that a number of other Americans were wounded in the attack. American forces surrounded the area after the attack and a US helicopter was seen in the area overhead.


Ar-Ramadi.


Resistance bombards US base west of ar-Ramadi.


Iraqi Resistance forces mounted a rocket attack on the US base west of ar-Ramadi on Sunday morning sending plumes of black smoke rising into the sky over the US-occupied facility. Quds Press, which reported the Resistance attack, said no information on US casualties was available.


Baghdad.


Four US troops reported killed in Resistance ambush on US supply convoy in at-Taji.


In a dispatch posted at 5:10pm Mecca time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces attacked a US truck convoy loaded with provisions and equipment for US occupation troops in the northern Baghdad suburb of at-Taji. The convoy was on its way to the north along the main road leading to the northern provinces of the country.

The at-Taji correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported local residents as saying that an Iraqi Resistance bomb that was planted by the side of the road blew up as the American convoy of eight military trucks and four Humvees passed by. The blast set one of the trucks on fire.

Then when the column came to a stop following the explosion, Iraqi Resistance fighters armed with light and medium weapons including RPG7 rocket-propelled grenades and pipe rockets, attacked them setting fire to another truck and disabling one of the American Humvees. Four US troops were killed and three others wounded.

Residents of ad-Dulayimah village in at-Taji told the correspondent that one of the Iraqi Resistance fighters was martyred in the attack and another one of them was wounded.


Resistance martyrdom fighter blasts puppet police station in Baghdad, reportedly killing 22.

An Iraqi Resistance martyrdom fighter drove an explosives-laden truck into the ar-Rashad puppet police station in the eastern part of Baghdad after noon on Sunday. Sources in the puppet police told Quds Press that the blast left 22 dead and about 25 others wounded, "many" of the puppet policemen.

Fire trucks and ambulances raced to the scene as US and Iraqi puppet forces sealed off the area where the attack took place. All operations were complicated by high summer temperatures and a dust storm that reduced visibility to about 50 meters.


Puppet policeman reported killed in Resistance mortar barrage on "interior ministry."

Iraqi Resistance forces mounted a mortar barrage on the puppet so-called "Iraqi interior ministry" building in occupied Baghdad on Sunday, killing one Iraqi puppet policeman and wounding others, according to a dispatch posted by Quds Press at 9:21am GMT Sunday morning.


Resistance fighters shoot and kill puppet police commander for al-Kazimiyah district.

In a dispatch posted at 10:40am Mecca time Sunday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters shot and killed one of the directors of the puppet police in northern Baghdad’s al-Kazimiyah district. The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in Baghdad repoted witnesses from eastern Baghdad’s al-Hurriyah district as saying that the motorcade carrying puppet police commander of the large Baghdad district of al-Kazimiyah, Khalaf Ahmad, came under a heavy hail of gunfire as it left his home Sunday morning.

Witnesses reported that the gunfire killed the puppet police commander and killed and wounded a number of his companions. The Resistance attackers were able to leave the scene after assuring themselves that the commander was dead.

The puppet "government" acknowledged the attack and confirmed the report of the commander’s death, claiming that he fought back against the Resistance attackers until his ammunition was exhausted. Witnesses, however, deny that story, saying that the puppet police put up no sign of struggle.


Four US troops reported killed in early morning bombing in ar-Ridwaniyah.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a patrol of US Humvees on the main road in ar-Ridwaniyah, southwest of Baghdad at 7am Sunday morning.

Residents of ar-Ridwaniyah who witnessed the bombing told the correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam that a bomb that was planted by the side of the road leading from al-Habbaniyah to Saddam International Airport exploded, totally destroying one American vehicle and killing four US troops who were aboard it.

Al-Mada’in.



Resistance attacks puppet base Saturday night; puppet soldiers run away to hide in nearby houses.


A detachment of Iraqi Resistance fighters armed with light and medium weapons attacked an Iraqi puppet army base in al-Mada’in, southeast of Baghdad. Quds Press reported that faced with the attack, the puppet soldiers fled from their base and hid in nearby houses.

Residents of the area told the correspondent for Quds Press that about 50 Iraqi Resistance fighters attacked the puppet base on Saturday evening with bombs and machine guns. A number of puppet officers and men were killed in the initial attack while many other puppet soldiers fled to nearby houses hoping local people would protect them. Others hid in the nearby Ctesiphon historical monument area, known as Kasra’s Archway.

Al-Yusufiyah.



Six US troops reported killed in morning bombing near al-Yusufiyah.


An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded under a US armored column on the highway leading to al-Yusufiyah, south of Baghdad at 9am local time Sunday morning.

Witnesses told the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent that a US column of four armored vehicles and two Humvees was proceeding towards al-Yusufiyah when a large Resistance bomb that was planted in the middle of the road exploded under one of the armored vehicles.

Witnesses said that the blast totally destroyed the vehicle, killing six American soldiers who were aboard it.


Salah ad-Din Province.

Balad.


Double bombing strikes US column on southern approaches to Balad Sunday afternoon.


Two Iraqi Resistance bombs exploded by a US military column on the main road in the Balad area, 70km north of Baghdad at 3:15pm local time Sunday afternoon.

Residents of Balad who witnessed the attack told Mafkarat al-Islam that the Resistance bombs planted two bombs by the side of the road at the southern entrance to the city. The first bomb exploded as a column of four American Humvees and two US armored vehicles passed by. The blast destroyed one of the American vehicles, killing two US troops and wounding four more.

After American troops gathered in the area to try to extract the dead and wounded from the stricken vehicle, the second bomb exploded, killing or wounding six more Americans.


Samarra’.


Resistance bombards US headquarters in Samarra’ Sunday morning.

The witnesses said that most of the mortar rounds blasted into the entrance of the building. The explosions heavily damaged the building and destroyed one American vehicle and set two Iraqi puppet vehicles on fie. About 14 US and Iraqi puppet troops were killed or wounded in the attack.

Iraqi Resistance forces unleashed a powerful barrage of six medium-range Grad rockets on the US al-Ghazlani base in the northern city of Mosul at 5pm local time Sunday afternoon.

Residents of al-Fath village near the US base told Mafkarat al-Islam that six medium-range Grad rockets blasted into the Ameican base, setting off very violent explosions and sending plumes of smoke rising into the sky over the American-occupied facility.

Although no precise information on US casualties was available, American helicopters were seen landing inside al-Ghazlani base apparently to evacuate US dead and wounded.


Four US troops reported killed in early morning ambush on US armored column.

Iraqi Resistance fighters armed with light and medium weapons, including RPG7 rocket-propelled grenades and pipe rockets, attacked a US armored column on the main road to Baghdad south of Mosul at 6am local time Sunday morning.

Residents of the al-Qiyarah area south of Mosul told the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent that the Resistance fighters ambushed a column of three American armored vehicles and two Humvees.

The correspondent reported that the Resistance fighters destroyed one of the US armored vehicles, killing four American troops and wounding three more. The witnesses said that two of the Resistance fighters were wounded in the attack.


Maysan Province.

Al-'Amarah.



Two British troops reported killed, five wounded in al-'Amarah Sunday afternoon.


An Iraqi Resistance car bomb exploded by a British military column on the main road to al-Basrah at 2pm local time Sunday afternoon.

Residents of the 'Ali ash-Sharqi area told Mafkarat al-Islam that a car bomb that had been parked by the side of the main street exploded when the column of two British troop carriers and two armored vehicles passed by. The blast set one of the troop transports ablaze, killing two British soldiers and wounding five more.
