Al-Anbar Province.
Ar-Ramadi.
Resistance seizes central ar-Ramadi early Monday amid the heaviest fighting in the city for over two months.
Fierce battles of a sort not seen in ar-Ramadi for more than two months broke out in that city early Monday morning.
The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in ar-Ramadi reported
eyewitnesses as saying that at 4am before dawn the first clash erupted
in the as-Sufiyah area to the north of the city. Fighting then spread
to the center of ar-Ramaadi as more than 40 Resistance fighters battled
with US and Iraqi puppet army troops on al-Kass Street, al-Mal'ab
Street, az-Zuyut Street, and in the area of the bridge.
The witnesses reported that three troop carriers were totally
destroyed, killing the Iraqi puppet army troops inside. That occurred
when the Second Unit that was concentrated outside ar-Ramadi was sent
as reinforcements to the Iraqi puppet army forces in the center of the
city. Resistance forces blocked their path with bombs and land mines,
destroying the three vehicles.
To the north, one Humvee was blown up and destroyed by a
high-explosive Resistance bomb. It could be seen ablaze where it met
its end.
In his report posted at 9:15am Mecca time Monday morning, the
Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in the middle of ar-Ramadi reported
that the Iraqi Resistance had seized control of the center of ar-Ramadi
about an hour before the time of writing after US forces pulled out as
a result of heavy Resistance fire.
Then in a bulletin posted at 11:15am Mecca time Monday morning,
Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier, the Iraqi
Resistance had officially declared that it has seized control of the
city following the withdrawal of US forces and the flight of the Iraqi
puppet army from the area in fierce fighting.
The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported eyewitnesses as saying
that heavily armed Resistance fighters were deployed in large numbers
in the streets and lanes of ar-Ramadi. They were equipped with a
variety of weapons.
US bombs ar-Ramadi following flight of US occupation troops.
In a dispatch posted at 1:30pm Mecca time Monday afternoon,
Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while before, US F-16 fighter
bombers had carried out intensive bombing of the city of ar-Ramadi. The
air raids followed the expulsion of US occupation forces from the city
by the Iraqi Resistance in heavy fighting earlier in the day.
The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in the city reported a medical
source in ar-Ramadi General Hospital (otherwise known as Saddam General
Hospital) as saying that as of the time of reporting, five dead had
been brought into the hospital following the American bombing and 14
wounded – most of them women and children.
There were also unconfirmed reports that the US had bombed a mosque in northern ar-Ramadi as well, the correspondent added.
Al-Hadithah.
Resistance boat bomb blasts US patrol craft near al-Hadithah dam.
In a dispatch posted at 8:45pm Mecca time Monday night, Mafkarat
al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance fighter drove an
explosives-laden fishing boat into a US patrol craft by the al-Hadithah
dam and electric power station.
The al-Hadithah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eye
witnesses resident along the banks of the Euphrates river as saying
that a Resistance fighter drove his booby-trapped boat into the
Americans when they were not paying attention to him as they were busy
patrolling the river front opposite their base trying to prevent the
infiltration of Resistance fighters. The explosion killed or wounded at
least six US Marines, the witnesses said.
The correspondent wrote that at the time of reporting, US Apache
helicopters in the air and American patrol boats on the river were
patrolling the area.
Resistance bombards US headquarters near al-Hadithah dam at noon.
Iraqi Resistance forces fired three heavy 120mm mortar rounds into
the US military headquarters near the al-Hadithah dam, located to the
northwest of the city of al-Hadithah at about 12 noon local time
Monday.
The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in al-Hadithah reported that
the barrage sent columns of smoke billowing into the sky over the
US-occupied facility.
Al-Fallujah.
Resistance sharpshooter kills US Marine early Monday.
An Iraqi Resistance marksman shot and killed a US soldier in the
middle of al-Fallujah as he was walking on a foot patrol in the
an-Nazizah market.
Witnesses told the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in al-Fallujah
that the sharpshooter’s bullet struck the American Marine in the neck,
killing him instantly.
Immediately after the shooting, US forces opened fire
indiscriminately into the air, inflicing no casualties and closed off
the area.
Baghdad.
Two US troops reported killed in bombing near ar-Ridwaniyah Monday afternoon.
An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US patrol in the area of
ar-Ridwaniyah, south of Baghdad at 3:15pm local time Monday afternoon.
The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in Baghdad reported residents
of the village of Suraysir, which lies east of ar-Ridwaniyah, as saying
that a bomb that was planted in the middle of a farm road in their
village blew up under a column of three armored vehicles and two
Humvees. The explosion set one of the armored vehicles on fire, killing
two US soldiers and wounding two others.
Resistance bomb blasts puppet "National Guard" column in at-Taji midday Monday.
An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by an Iraqi puppet "Nataional
Guard" column in the at-Taji area just north of Baghdad at 1pm local
time Monday.
The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source
in the puppet "Rapid Deployment Forces" in at-Taji said that a bomb
that had been planted by the side of the highway in at-Taji blew up as
an Iraqi puppet "National Guard" column drove past. The explosion set
fire to one of the vehicles in the column, killing three Iraqi puppet
"national guard" troops and wounding three more.
Salah ad-Din Province.
Bayji.
Two US troops reported killed in evening Resistance ambush north of Bayji.
In a dispatch posted at 7:40pm Mecca time Monday evening, Mafkarat
al-Islam reported that a short while earlier Iraqi Resistance fighters
had attacked a joint US-Iraqi puppet army patrol on the road to
ash-Sharaqat, north of Bayji.
The Bayji correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses
as saying that Resistance fighters armed with automatic weapons, PKS
machine guns, and pipe rockets, attacked the patrol of three Iraqi
puppet army vehicles and three US Humvees, sparking an engagement that
lasted about 15 minutes. One American Humvee and one Iraqi puppet army
vehicle were burned. Two US troops and one Iraqi puppet soldier were
killed and three American troops and three Iraqi puppet soldiers were
wounded.
Samarra’.
Resistance executes three admitted informants.
In a statement posted around a number of mosques in Samarra’ – a
copy of which was obtained by the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent – the
Iraqi Resistance announced that it had executed three individuals who
had confessed to working with US occupation forces in the city.
The Statement issued by the ar-Rashid Jihadi Brigades stated that
three agents of the occupation admitted to providing the US forces with
information on the whereabouts of fraternal Arab Resistance fighters in
Samarra’. The Americans then bombarded the houses where they were and
killed those fighters. The Resistance said that the throats of the
three informants had been slit, killing them, on Monday morning.
Diyala Province.
Ba'qubah.
Two US troops reported killed in morning resistance bombing in Ba'qubah.
An Iraqi Resistance land mine blew up by an American Humvee in the
al-Mu'allimin neighborhood of Ba'qubah, northeast of Baghdad early on
Monday morning.
The Ba'qubah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a
spokesman for the Iraqi puppet police in the city as saying that a
primitive land mine that had been planted by the side of the road blew
up next to a Humvee, killing two US troops and seriously wounding a
third who was taken to the American Kharnabat Military Hospital near
Ba'qubah.
The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent saw the remaining traces of
where the bomb exploded, where pieces of clothing of one of the US
soldiers were still at the scene. The correspondent, along with other
reporters tried to take photographs of the area, but a puppet policeman
on duty there prevented them and threatened to arrest anyone who tried
to take pictures.
Al-Miqdadiyah.
Resistance attacks target Iraqi puppet troops in al-Miqdadiyah Monday.
Iraqi Resistance forces mounted two attacks on Iraqi puppet army
forces in the al-Miqdadiyah area northeast of Baghdad on Monday.
Iraqi Resistance fighters armed with light and medium weapons,
including PKS machine guns and RPG7 rocket-propelled grenades, attacked
an Iraqi puppet army patrol residents of al-Miqdadiyah, setting one of
their personnel carriers on fire and killing two Iraqi puppet army
soldiers. Two other puppet army troops were wounded in that attack.
In a separate incident, An Iraqi Resistance bomb that had been
planted by the side of a road in the industrial district of
al-Miqdadiyah blew up as an Iraqi puppet army patrol passed by. The
explosion destroyed one pickup belonging to the Iraqi puppet military.
One Iraqi puppet soldier was killed and two more wounded in the attack.
Babil Province.
Al-Yusufiyah.
Three US troops reported killed in afternoon roadside car bombing Monday.
An Iraqi Resistance car bomb exploded by a joint US-Iraqi puppet
army column in al-Yusufiyah, south of Baghdad at about 3pm local time
Monday afternoon.
The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported eyewitnesses who live
in al-Yusufiyah as saying that an explosives-packed car that was parked
by the side of the road to ar-Ridwaniyah blew up as the joint column
drove past. The explosion set one of the American Humvees on fire and
inflicted severe damage on one of the Iraqi puppet army vehicles. Three
US troops and one Iraqi puppet army soldier were killed, and two
American soldiers and one Iraqi puppet army soldier were wounded in the
blast.
At-Ta’mim Province.
Kirkuk.
Resistance bombards US base in Kirkuk airport early Monday.
Iraqi Resistance forces fired three Grad rockets into the US base set up in Kirkuk International Airport at dawn on Monday.
The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in Kirkuk reported witnesses as
saying that the three rockets blasted into the facility, sending clouds
of white smoke rising into the air near the northern observation deck
of the American base.
Maysan Province.
Al-'Amarah.
Resistance bomb targets British patrol south of al-'Amarah midday Monday.
An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a British patrol south of the city of al-'Amarah at 1pm local time Monday.
The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in al-'Amarah reported that the
incident occurred on the main road running south to al-Basrah. The
correspondent wrote that the bomb exploded as a patrol of British
armored vehicles was passing by, damaging one of them and wounding
three British troops, one of them seriously.
