Amman – In Amman, Ziad Al Najdawi, member of ISNAD Central Committee for defending the former Iraqi president Saddam Hussein accused the Iraqi government of being behind a conspiracy for the liquidation of the members of Saddam's defense team in Iraq. He considered that the murder of Sa'dun Al Janabi, member of the defense team, is the beginning of this plot.

Al Najdawi accused, whom he described as 'the New Safwis', of being behind the murder. In a press conference held in Amman, he considered that the murder of the lawyer Al Janabi "is a clear message to all the members of the defense team, of Iraqi, Arab and foreign lawyers.

He reconfirmed that the court that Saddam Hussein and seven of his associates appeared before, which he described as 'a court of ghosts' is 'illegal' as it personifies the will of the American occupant by making the trial political, not legal.

On the other hand, a press statement issued on behalf of the ISNAD Central Committee in Amman noted that Ramsey Clark, former Attorney General, has addressed a message to Rumsfeld, the US defense minister, and General Casey, the commander of the American forces in Iraq, notifying them of an attack against the defense lawyers of the former president Saddam Hussein, in an attempt to humiliate them. He demanded for written guarantees for securing their lives. The committee has expressed fears of the continuation of the violation of President Saddam's right for a fair trial.
