Al-Hadithah.
Two Resistance car bombs rip through US columns near al-Hadithah Sunday afternoon.
Two Iraqi Resistance car bombs had exploded Sunday afternoon by two
columns of US soldiers in the areas of al-Barwanah and al-Haqlaniyah,
east and northeast of al-Hadithah in western Iraq.
The al-Hadithah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a
source in the Iraqi puppet army who asked not to be identified as
saying that an explosives-packed car that had been parked by the side
of the main road in al-Barwanah blew up by a US column at 3pm local
time Sunday afternoon. The explosion destroyed one American military
vehicle and damaged a second and killed or wounded a number of US
troops.
Meanwhile, eyewitnesses in the town of al-Haqlaniyah told the
Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent that another explosives-laden car had
exploded in their area, destroying two Humvees and killing or wounding
nine US troops who were aboard it. The witnesses differed over whether
a Resistance fida’i fighter had been at the wheel of the attack car
when it exploded.
The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported that US troops
arrested more than 40 local people after the attacks, all of them
civilians. The mass arrests caused many people to flee the city, lest
they too be rounded up in such random raids that can result in
incarceration for indefinite periods and possibly torture and death.
Al-Fallujah.
Resistance bombards US military headquarters in al-Fallujah.
In a dispatch posted at 11:55am Mecca time Sunday morning, Mafkarat
al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces had fired seven 82mm
mortar rounds into the headquarters of US military forces in
al-Fallujah.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported residents of
al-Fallujah who witnessed the attack as saying that the barraged
produced several explosions and sent pillars of smoke billowing into
the sky.
Ar-Ramadi.
Bomb blasts US fuel convoy in ar-Ramadi.
In a dispatch posted at 6:10pm Mecca time Sunday evening, Mafkarat
al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb had exploded by a
convoy of several US trucks on the Strategic Road west of ar-Ramadi.
The ar-Ramadi correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source
in the Iraqi puppet "National Guard" as saying that a bomb that had
been planted by the side of the Strategic Road blew up by a passing
convoy of tankers hauling fuel to US bases. The blast destroyed one of
the trucks, wounding its driver.
US air raid on residential building kills elderly man and wife Sunday.
In a bulletin posted at 2:40pm Mecca time Sunday afternoon,
Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US warplanes had attacked a residential
building near the former Immigration building in downtown ar-Ramadi – a
facility that the US forces have taken over and turned into their local
headquarters.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a medical source
as saying that at the time of reporting two local civilians were known
to have been killed in that American air raid – an elderly man and his
wife. Three more people had been injured in the raid. The figures were
not final, the correspondent noted, however, since rescue teams were at
that moment digging through the rubble in an effort to find and extract
any remaining civilians.
Five US troops reported killed in violent fighting in downtown ar-Ramadi.
In a dispatch posted at 11am Mecca time Sunday morning, Mafkarat
al-Islam reported that fierce fighting erupted between Iraqi Resistance
forces and US occupation troops in the middle of ar-Ramadi, some 110km
west of Baghdad.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported local eyewitnesses
as saying that the clash broke out when Resistance fighters armed with
light and medium weapons, pipe rockets, and mortars assaulted the old
Immigration building, which the Americans have occupied and turned into
a local headquarters. The combat continue for several hours in
extremely great intensity and left large sections of the Immigration
Building destroyed. Two US snipers who were atop the building were
killed. Three other US soldiers also died and four more of them
wounded, the correspondent reported.
Abu Ghurayb.
Four US troops reported killed in Resistance bombing in Abu Ghurayb.
In a dispatch posted at 11:30am Mecca time Sunday morning, Mafkarat
al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb had exploded by a
column of US forces on one of the main roads in Abu Ghurayb.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported local eyewitnesses
as saying that the bomb that had been planted by the side of one of he
main roads in the city blew up as a column of several American Humvees
was driving past. The explosion disabled two Humvees, killing four US
troops and wounding two more, the correspondent reported.
Baghdad.
Resistance bomb rips through puppet guard column north of Baghdad.
In a dispatch posted at 4:20pm Mecca time Sunday afternoon,
Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb had exploded
by a column of Iraqi puppet "National Guards" on the main road in the
northern Baghdad area of Sab' al-Bur.
The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported
eyewitnesses as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the road
leading to the northern Baghdad suburb of at-Taji had blown up by a
passing puppet "National Guard" column, destroying one vehicle and
killing eight Iraqi puppet troops and wounding three more of them.
Resistance pounds "Green Zone" with Grad rockets.
In a dispatch posted at 3:50pm Mecca time Sunday afternoon,
Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces had unleashed a
barrage on the part of downtown Baghdad where the Republican Palace is
located – the area where the Americans have established the
headquarters of their occupation and dubbed the "Green Zone."
The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported residents
of as-Salihiyah which is near the "Green Zone" as saying that three
medium-range Grad rockets had blasted into the "Zone" setting off
powerful explosions and sending plumes of smoke rising into the sky
from inside the heavily-guarded area.
Resistance bombards puppet troop headquarters in as-Sayyidiyah.
In a dispatch posted at 11:30am Mecca time Sunday morning, Mafkarat
al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces had fired two
medium-range Katyusha rockets into a headquarters of Iraqi puppet army
troops in the as-Sayyidiyah area to the south of Baghdad.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported residents of
as-Sayyidiyah as saying hat the rockets scored direct hits on the
headquarters, sending plumes of smoke rising intothe sky.
Three Resistance bombs blast "Shock Troop" targets in ad-Durah.
In a dispatch posted at 11:20am Mecca time Sunday morning, Mafkarat
al-Islam reported that three Iraqi Resistance bombs had exploded by
patrols of the puppet "Iraqi Interior Ministry Shock Troops" in the
southern Baghdad suburb of ad-Durah.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported residents of
ad-Durah who witnessed the attacks as saying that the first bomb had
been planted by the side of the road near the al-Mikanik are bridge. It
went off as a "Shock Troop" patrol was passing by, disabling one patrol
vehicle and killing two "Shock Troops" and wounding two more of them.
The second bomb, witnesses said, was planted by the side of the
main road in the al-Bu 'Ithah area near a checkpoint. That explosion
disabled one "Shock Troop" vehicle, killing three "Shock Troops" and
wounding a fourth.
The third bomb was planted on the road opposite the ad-Durah oil
refinery. It blew up as a "Shock Troop" patrol was passing by,
disabling one patrol vehicle and killing one member of the "Shock
Troops" and wounding a second.
Iraqi puppet police report eight Resistance bombs in Baghdad Sunday morning.
An Iraqi Resistance car bomb that had been parked by the side of a
road exploded by a puppet "National Guard" patrol on al-Maghrib Street
at 8:55am local time Sunday morning, wounding two persons, Quds Press
reported a source in the Iraqi puppet police as saying.
A second car bomb that had been parked by the side of a street blew
up at the al-Masbah intersection near the German Embassy at 9:20am
local time. The puppet police told Quds Press that that blast wounded
two puppet policemen and killed two civilians. A third car bomb blew up
near the al-Bayda’ Cinema in Baghdad al-Jadidah, but inflicted no
casualties and caused no damage the puppet police told Quds Press.
A fourth bomb exploded near a restaurant in southeast Baghdad’s
al-Mashtal neighborhood. That explosive device also inflicted no
casualties but a number of cars and shops in the area were damaged,
Quds Press reported the puppet police as saying.
The same source claimed that a fifth bomb went off at the
intersection near the former Security Directorate in the al-Baladiyat
area of Baghdad, wounding one civilian who was later taken to hospital.
A sixth bomb blew up in a car park in al-Mashtal in southeast
Baghdad without inflicting casualties or damage, a seventh at the
al-Hamzah intersection in the al-Baladiyat area also produced not
casualties, the puppet police said. The eighth bomb went off in
Maysalun Square in eastern Baghdad. Iraqi puppet police sources said
that explosion also resulted in no casualties.
Son of Palestinian Cultural Attaché shot dead in Baghdad Saturday night.
The Palestine Diplomatic Mission in Iraq announced that the son of
the Palestinian cultural attaché in Baghdad was shot to death hours
before the New Year.
The Palestinian mission reported that 17-year-old 'Azzam Ibrahim
Muhsin was shot on Saturday night as he sat in his car in the western
part of Baghdad. The 'Arab 48 website, as monitored by Mafkarat
al-Islam, reported that Dalil al-Qassus, the chargé d’affaires at the
Palestinian Mission, had announced that "the Mission will demand that
an investigation be carried out into the facts of the killing."
Members of the Palestinian community in Baghdad have been the
frequent target of attacks by the Badr Brigades and other puppet regime
security agencies since the American invasion of the country in spring
2003.

Tikrit.
Resistance forces bombard US headquarters in Tikrit as Americans celebrate New Year.
In a dispatch posted at 4:50pm Mecca time Sunday afternoon,
Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces had bombarded
the main US military headquarters in Tikrit with two medium-range
rockets.
The Tikrit correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported
eyewitnesses as saying that the Resistance bombarded the American
headquarters as the occupation troops were holding parties to celebrate
the New Year during the night. The rockets set off violent explosions.
Bayji.
Resistance bomb in Bayji leaves one US soldier reported dead.
In a dispatch posted at 4:40pm Mecca time Sunday afternoon,
Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb had exploded
by a US military column on the main road in the middle of Bayji, north
of Baghdad.
The Bayji correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses
as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the side of the main
road had exploded near the industrial area of the town as a column of
several American Humvees was driving past. The blast disabled a Humvee,
killing one US soldier and wounding three more.
The correspondent reported that after the bombing, the American
troops opened fire indiscriminately around the area, wounding three
Iraqi civilians.
At-Tarimiyah.
Iraqi Resistance sharpshooter kills American soldier in at-Tarimiyah.
In a dispatch posted at 4pm Mecca time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat
al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance marksman had shot and killed
a US soldier in at-Tarimiyah, north of Baghdad.
The at-Tarimiyah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported
eyewitnesses as saying that the American soldier had been in a patrol
on the main road in the town when a Resistance sharpshooter’s bullet
struck him, killing him instantly.
Eight US troops on way to New Year’s party reported killed in pre-dawn bombing near at-Tarimiyah.
Three Iraqi Resistance bombs blasted US forces north of Baghdad in the early hours of 2006 bringing death to American troops.
The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported Staff Colonel 'Ali
al-Jabiri of the Iraqi puppet army, who is in charge of political
guidance in the Fourth Division of the Iraqi puppet army in the
northern Baghdad area as saying that at 3am local time Sunday morning,
three Iraqi Resistance bombs blasted a patrol of US troops in the
at-Tarimiyah area.
The bombs had been planted on the main road near to each other. The
explosions destroyed two US military vehicles, killing eight American
troops, one of them a sergeant.
Colonel al-Jabiri told the correspondent at the scene that the
American column had been heading to a New Year’s party that was being
held in the US air base in the northern Baghdad suburb of at-Taji. The
troops in four US military camps in at-Tarimiyah had been given
permission to attend the parties with other soldiers in that base.
The correspondent reported that on arrival at the scene of the
explosions, he found the remains of one vehicle that still had not been
hauled away. Residents of the surrounding area said that they had not
been able to sleep al night, first because of the explosion and then
because the Americans called in helicopters and opened fire around the
area indiscriminately. No one was hurt in the wild American gunfire,
however.
Ad-Dulu'iyah.
Katyusha rockets blast US headquarters in ad-Dulu'iyah.
In a dispatch posted at 11:05am Mecca time Sunday morning, Mafkarat
al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces had fired two Katyusha
rockets into the US military headquarters in ad-Dulu'iyah, north of
Baghdad.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported residents of
ad-Dulu'iyah who witnessed the bombardment as saying that the rockets
scored direct hits on the American-occupied facility, sending plumes of
smoke rising over the facility.

Buhriz.
Resistance bomb blasts puppet police in Buhriz.
In a dispatch posted at 5:10pm Mecca time Sunday evening, Mafkarat
al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb had exploded by a
puppet police patrol in the Buhriz area northeast of Baghdad.
The Ba'qubah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported
eyewitnesses as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the side of
the main road in the town had blown up by a puppet police patrol,
damaging one patrol vehicle and killing two puppet policemen and
wounding four more of them.

al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb had exploded by a US
column on the main road in Ba'qubah, northeast of Baghdad.

in the puppet "Rapid Deployment Forces" as saying that a bomb that had
been planted by the side of the main road leading to the center of town
blew up as a US column was passing by, disabling one Humvee and
wounding three US troops.
American soldier reported killed in Resistance bombing northeast of Baghdad.
In a dispatch posted at 3:50pm Mecca time Sunday afternoon,
Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb had exploded
by a column of US occupation troops on the highway between
al-Miqdadiyah and Baghdad.
The Diyala Province correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a
source in the Iraqi puppet police as saying that a bomb that had been
planted by the side of the road blew up as a US military column was
driving past, disabling a Humvee and killing one US soldier and
wounding a second.

Seven US troops reported killed when Resistance car bomber blasts minesweeper.
In a dispatch posted at 10:20am Mecca time Sunday morning, Mafkarat
al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance fida’i fighter drove an
explosives-laden car into an American mine sweeper that was part of a
patrol on the road between the cities of ar-Rashad and al-Hawijah
southwest of Kirkuk in northern Iraq.
The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported residents of
al-Hawijah as saying that the explosion totally destroyed the mine
sweeper, killing seven US troops who were aboard it.

Resistance bomb blasts US troops in Mosul.
In a dispatch posted at 5:15pm Mecca time Sunday evening, Mafkarat
al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb had exploded by a US
military column on the main road in the al-Yarmuk area of eastern
Mosul.
The Mosul correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in
the Iraqi puppet police as saying that a bomb that had been planted by
the side of the road in al-Yarmuk blew up as a column of several
American armored vehicles was driving past. The blast disabled an
armored vehicle, killing or wounding the five US troops aboard it.
Tall 'Afar.
Bomb wounds US troops west of Tall 'Afar.
In a dispatch posted at 5:35pm Mecca time Sunday evening, Mafkarat
al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb had exploded by a US
column on the road between Tall 'Afar and Sanjar in northern Iraq.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the
puppet "National Guard" as saying that the bomb disabled one Humvee,
wounding three US troops who were aboard it, one of them seriously.
Resistance fighters ambush puppet police patrol.
In a dispatch posted at 5pm Mecca time Sunday evening, Mafkarat
al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters had ambushed a patrol
of Iraqi puppet police on the main road in the 7 April area of Tall
'Afar in northern Iraq.
The Tall 'Afar correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported
eyewitnesses as saying that Resistance fighters equipped with light
arms attacked a puppet police foot patrol, killing two puppet policemen
and wounding two more of them. The Resistance fighters then withdrew
from the area.
