Hit.
Resistance pounds US base in Hit with 14 Katyusha rockets.
In a dispatch posted at 4:30pm Mecca time Monday afternoon,
Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired 14
medium-range Katyusha rockets into the US military headquarters in the
western Iraqi city of Hit.
The Hit correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported local
eyewitnesses as saying that the rockets scored direct hits on the
American-occupied facility, sending plumes of smoke rising from every
part of the base.
Afterwards, American helicopters could be seen hovering at low altitude above the base for a long period of time.
Al-Fallujah.
Resistance bomb in al-Fallujah reportedly kills US soldier.
In a dispatch posted at 2:55pm Mecca time Monday afternoon,
Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb had exploded
by an American patrol on the main road in the al-Karmah area east of
al-Fallujah, 60km west of Baghdad.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported residents of
al-Karmah who witnessed the attack as saying that a bomb that had been
planted by the side of the road to the al-Karmah Bridge blew up as a US
patrol drove past, disabling a vehicle and killing one US soldier and
wounding a second.
Al-Habbaniyah.
Resistance bombards US as-Saqr Base in al-Habbaniya.
In a dispatch posted at 2:45pm Mecca time Monday afternoon,
Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces had fired two
mortar round into the as-Saqr US military base in al-Habbaniyah.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported residents of the
nearby al-Fallahat area as saying that the two shells blasted directly
into the base, sending up plumes of smoke.
Ar-Ramadi.
Resistance launches assault on US headquarters set up in former Immigration Building in ar-Ramadi, Monday afternoon.
In a bulletin posted at 4:50pm Mecca time Monday afternoon,
Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier Iraqi Resistance
forces had begun an armed assault on one of the US occupation
headquarters in the middle of ar-Ramadi, some 110km west of Baghdad.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that about 50
Resistance fighters launched their attack about a quarter of an hour
before he filed his report. The attack commenced with a barrage of
medium-caliber mortar rounds on the US base, set up in the former
Immigration Building in ar-Ramadi. After the initial bombardment,
Resistance fighters began a ground attack on the American-occupied
facility, firing anti-tank and anti-personnel rockets, hurling hand
grenades, and shooting light and medium weapons.
The correspondent reported that at the time of writing, the
Americans were responding to the Resistance attack with very heavy
gunfire of their own. The correspondent reported that the Resistance
assault appeared to have been planned so as to facilitate a quick
seizure of the building, before US aircraft had time to respond.
Resistance bomb in al-Bu Farraj near ar-Ramadi leaves one US soldier reported dead.
In a dispatch posted at 2:15pm Mecca time Monday afternoon,
Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb had exploded
by a US military column on the main road in the al-Bu Farraj area of
northwestern ar-Ramadi.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in
al-Bu Farraj as saying that the bomb that had been planted by the side
of the road linking the village with ar-Ramadi blew up by a column of
several American armored vehicles and Humvees. The explosion disabled a
US armored vehicle, killing one American soldier and wounding three
more of them.
Baghdad.
Multiple Resistance attacks wreck havoc with Police Day celebrations attended by US Ambassador, puppet ministers.
The building of the puppet "Iraqi Interior Ministry" in the middle
of Baghdad was shaken by powerful explosions during the "Ministry’s"
festivities on the occasion of the Iraqi Police Day.
A source in the puppet "Interior Ministry" told Quds Press that
seven puppet policemen had been killed and 35 more of them wounded when
two Resistance fighters wearing explosive belts blew themselves up near
a secondary entrance to the puppet "Ministry" shortly after noon
Monday.
About 10 minutes after the double bombing, an Iraqi Resistance
mortar round blasted into the area, but caused no casualties, Quds
Press reported.
The source told Quds Press that the celebration for Police Day was
being attended by the puppet "Interior Minister" Baqir Jabr Sulagh, the
puppet "Defense Minister" Sa'dun ad-Dulaymi, the American Ambassador
Zalmay Khalilzadeh, as well s a number of western diplomats.
Resistance fighters attack Shi'i sectarian Badr Brigade militiamen in as-Sayyidiyah.
In a dispatch posted at 5:30pm Mecca time Monday afternoon,
Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces armed with
light and medium weapons attacked a contingent of pro-US Shi'i
sectarian Badr Brigade militiamen in the southern Baghdad area of
as-Sayyidiyah.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported residents of
as-Sayyidiyah who witnessed the attack as saying that the Resistance
fighters ambushed the Badr Brigade gunmen as they were driving through
as-Sayyidiyah in two cars. The Resistance fighters killed two of the
Badr Brigade men and then withdrew from the area having suffered no
losses of their own, the correspondent reported.
US soldier reported killed in Resistance barrage on joint US-Iraqi puppet guard facility in Baghdad’s al-Kazimiyah.
In a dispatch posted at 4:50pm Mecca time Monday afternoon,
Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces had fired four
82mm mortar rounds into the joint headquarters of US and Iraqi puppet
"National Guard" headquarters in northern Baghdad’s al-Kazimiyah
district.
The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source
in the Iraqi puppet police as saying that the shells blasted into the
gate of the base, inflicting considerable material damage, killing one
US soldier and two Iraqi puppet "National Guards, and wounding a second
American soldier.
Resistance bomb blasts puppet "Iraqi National Guards" in Baghdad’s al-A'zamiyah district.
In a dispatch posted at 2:25pm Mecca time Monday afternoon,
Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb had exploded
by a column of Iraqi puppet "National Guards" in northern Baghdad’s
al-A'zamiyah area.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported residents of
al-A'zamiyah who witnessed the attack as saying that a bomb that had
been planted near the as-Salikh intersection blew up as a "National
Guard" column was driving past. The explosion damaged one patrol
vehicle, wounding three puppet guards and two civilians who happened to
be nearby.
Fighting rages in western Baghdad between Resistance, puppet police on Sunday.
In a dispatch posted at 3:40pm Mecca time Monday afternoon,
Mafkarat al-Islam reported that fierce fighting had raged beween Iraqi
Resistance fighters and Iraqi puppet police in the al-Jami 'ah section
of western Baghdad on Sunday.
The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported
eyewitnesses as saying that Resistance fighters armed with light and
medium weapons had ambushed a puppet police patrol, heavily damaging
patrol vehicles and killing two puppet policemen and wounding three
more of them.
Salah ad-Din Province.
At-Tarimiyah.
Resistance fighters assault puppet police station in at-Tarimiyah.
In a dispatch posted at 1:25pm Mecca time Monday, Mafkarat al-Islam
reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters had attacked a puppet police
station in at-Tarimiyah, just north of Baghdad.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported residents of
at-Tarimiyah who witnessed the assault as saying that the Resistance
attacked the puppet police station at a time when US and Iraqi puppet
"National Guards" were present in the building. The Resistance fighters
used light and medium weapons in their attack, killing three puppet
"Iraqi National Guards" and two puppet policemen. Four puppet guards
were wounded in the attack. Afterwards, the Resistance fighters
withdrew having sustained no casualties of their own, witnesses said.
Babil Province.
Al-Yusufiyah.
Resistance bombards Iraqi puppet "National Guard" checkpoint in al-Yusufiyah.
In a dispatch posted at 4:45pm Mecca time Monday afternoon,
Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces had fired a
barrage of 82mm mortar shells into a checkpoint in al-Yusufiyah that
was manned by Iraqi puppet "National Guard" soldiers.
The al-Yusufiyah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that
the Resistance had bombarded the puppet forces checkpoint on the
highway in the ash-Shuhada’ area of the city. Residents of ash-Shuhada’
told the correspondent that the barrage set one of the puppet troops’
vehicles ablaze. Two puppet "National Guards" were killed and another
five of them wounded in the bombardment.
Two US troops reported killed in bombing south of Baghdad.
In a dispatch posted at 1:15pm Mecca time Monday, Mafkarat al-Islam
reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US column on the
highway to al-Yusufiyah south of Baghdad.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the
Iraqi puppet police in Baghdad as saying that the bomb disabled one
Humvee, killing two US soldiers aand wounding a third.
Ninwa Province.
Tall 'Afar.
Resistance bomb rips through US column in Tall 'Afar, wounding US troops.
In a dispatch posted at 5:20pm Mecca time Monday evening, Mafkarat
al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US
military column on the main road in northeastern Tall 'Afar, west of
Mosul in northern Iraq.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported residents of Tall
'Afar who witnessed the attack said that the bomb disabled an American
armored vehicle and wounded four US troops who were aboard it.
