Al-Anbar Province.
Ar-Ramadi.
Resistance bombards US headquarters east of ar-Ramadi.
In a dispatch posted at 11:50am Mecca time Sunday morning, Mafkarat
al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces had fired three mortar
rounds into the headquarters of US occupation troops set up near the
Agricultural College to the east of ar-Ramadi, some 110km west of
Baghdad.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported local eyewitnesses
as saying that the shells blasted directly into the American-occupied
headquarters, setting off explosions and sending plumes of smoke rising
from inside the compound.
Al-Fallujah.
Bomb targets joint US-Iraqi puppet patrol in eastern al-Fallujah.
In a dispatch posted at 3pm Mecca time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat
al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb had exploded by a joint
US-Iraqi puppet army patrol in the al-'Askari neighborhood in eastern
al-Fallujah.
The al-Fallujah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported
eyewitnesses as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the side of
the main road in the neighborhood blew up as the joint patrol was
driving past. Two US troops and one Iraqi puppet soldier were wounded
in the blast.
Resistance bombards US headquarters east of al-Fallujah.
In a dispatch posted at 9:55am Mecca time Sunday morning, Mafkarat
al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces had fired six mortar
rounds into the US headquarters east of al-Fallujah.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported residents of
al-Fallujah who witnessed the bombardment as saying that the shells
scored direct hits on the US-occupied facility, sending plumes of smoke
rising into the sky from it.
Abu Ghurayb.
Puppet forces arrest 30 local youths in Abu Ghurayb.
In a dispatch posted at 11:10am Mecca time Sunday morning, Mafkarat
al-Islam reported that Iraqi puppet troops backed up by US forces
carried out a mas arrest campaign among civilians in the Abu Ghurayb
area some 30km west of Baghdad.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported residents of Abu
Ghurayb as saying that the puppet forces began their campaign two days
earlier in the city but no reasons for the arrests were known. More
than 30 local youths had been arrested, among them three imams of local
mosques.
Baghdad.
In a dispatch posted at 7:35pm Mecca time Sunday night, Mafkarat
al-Islam reported that a short while earlier a heavy caliber Iraqi
Resistance mortar round blasted into the middle of the area around the
Republican Palace, the district that the American forces have dubbed
the "Green Zone."
The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source
in the Iraqi puppet police as saying that the shell exploded near the
Palace of Congresses in the "Green Zone" but caused no damage or
casualties.
Resistance bombards puppet "Shock Troop" headquarters in ad-Durah.
In a dispatch posted at 4:30pm Mecca time Sunday afternoon,
Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces had bombarded
the headquarters of the puppet "Interior Ministry Shock Troops" in the
southern Baghdad suburb of ad-Durah.
The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source
in the puppet police as saying that a barrage of 82mm mortar shells
blasted into the headquarters, killing two "Shock Troops" and wounding
three more of them.
Resistance assassinated puppet lieutenant colonel in ad-Durah.
Iraqi Resistance fighters attacked a lieutenant colonel in the
puppet "Interior Ministry" military force as he was driving his car in
the southern Baghdad suburb of ad-Durah. The correspondent for Mafkarat
al-Islam reported in a dispatch posted at 4:30pm Mecca time Sunday
afternoon that the officer was killed instantly.
Car bombs target Iraqi puppet troops, police in Baghdad Sunday.
In a dispatch posted at 3:50pm Mecca time Sunday afternoon,
Mafkarat al-Islam reported that two car bombs had exploded in Baghdad
on Sunday targeting Iraqi puppet army and puppet police personnel.
The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported
shopkeepers in the al-Bag ash-Sharqi section of the occupied Iraqi
capital as saying that a car that had been packed with explosives and
parked by the side of the main road in the area near the al-Awrufli
Mosque not far from Liberation Square blew up as a column of Iraqi
puppet troops drove past. The explosion disabled one puppet army
vehicle, killing one Iraqi puppet soldier and wounding four more of
them.
In the second car bomb attack, an explosives-laden vehicle that had
been parked near the Baghdad Rescue Force headquarters blew up as an
Iraqi puppet police patrol drove past. That explosion wounded four
puppet policemen, two of them seriously.
Resistance fighters assault US column in eastern Baghdad leaving two US troops reported dead.
In a dispatch posted at 3:10pm Mecca time Sunday afternoon,
Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters had attacked
a US column on the Muhammad al-Qasim Highway in eastern Baghdad.
The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported residents
of the al-Ghadir neighborhood who witnessed the attack as saying that
Resistance fighters armed with light and medium weapons and pipe
rockets assaulted the American column, destroying a US Abrams tank and
killing two American soldiers and wounding three more of them.
Resistance mortar shell explodes near northern entrance to "Green Zone."
In a dispatch posted at 11:50am Mecca time Sunday morning, Mafkarat
al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired a heavy 120mm
mortar shell into the area of the Republican Palace in central Baghdad
– the district that the US forces call the "Green Zone" where the
occupation has set up its headquarters.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the
Iraqi puppet police as saying that the shell landed near the northern
entrance to the "Green Zone," killing two puppet policemen and wounding
two more.
Resistance bomb blasts column of puppet troops.
In a dispatch posted at 10:10am Mecca time Sunday morning, Mafkarat
al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb had exploded by a
column of Iraqi puppet army troops on the highway in eastern Baghdad.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the
Iraqi puppet police as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the
side of the highway blew up as a column of several Iraqi puppet army
troop transports and pickups was driving past.
The blast disabled one troop transport, killing to puppet army soldiers and wounding four more of them.

Al-Mahmudiyah.
Resistance bombards puppet "Iraqi National Guard" camp in al-Mahmudiyah.
In a dispatch posted at 4:20pm Mecca time Sunday afternoon,
Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces unleashed a
mortar barrage on a headquarters of the puppet "Iraqi National Guards"
in al-Mahmudiyah, south of Bahgdad.
The al-Mahmudiyah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a
source in the Iraqi puppet police as saying that three Iraqi puppet
troops had been killed and eight more wounded, most of them seriously,
in the barrage.
Al-Yusufiyah.
Three foreign mercenary "security contractors" killed in bombing south of Baghdad.
In a dispatch posted at 30am Mecca time Sunday morning, Mafkarat
al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb had exploded by a
column of four-wheel drive armor-plated vehicles used by mercenary
contractors belonging to security companies working for the US
occupation troops on the highway in al-Yusufiyah, south of Baghdad.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported residents of
al-Yusufiyah who witnessed the attack as saying that a bomb that had
been planted by the side of the highway blew up by the column of five
vehicles, setting one on fire and killing three foreigners who were
aboard it and wounding two more of them.
Al-Latifiyah.
US soldier reported killed in bombing south of al-Latifiyah.
In a dispatch posted at 10:20am Mecca time Sunday morning, Mafkarat
al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb had exploded by a US
military column on the highway near the Imwaylihah aera south of
al-Latifiyah, which is located south of Baghdad.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported residents of
al-Latifiyah who witnessed the explosion as saying that a bomb planted
by he side of the highway blew up as a column of several US Bradley
armored vehicles and Humvees drove past. The explosion disabled one
Humvee and killed one US soldier and wounded two more US troops who had
been aboard the vehicle.
Diyala Province.
Ba'qubah.
Resistance mounts double attack on puppet police in Ba'qubah.
In a dispatch posted at 5pm Mecca time Sunday evening, Mafkarat
al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces had carried out an
attack on Iraqi puppet police in the city of Ba'qubah northeast of
Baghdad.
The Ba'qubah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported
eyewitnesses as saying that Resistance fighters armed with light and
medium weapons had attacked the puppet police near al-'Anafisah Square,
killing two puppet policemen and wounding two more of them.
After the attack, eyewitnesses reported that a Resistance bomb
exploded by a puppet police column coming to reinforce the ones who had
just been attacked. The second blast disabled a Nissan patrol vehicle
and killed three more puppet policemen and wounded a fourth.
Resistance bombards US headquarters in airport near Ba'qubah.
In a dispatch posted at 4:40pm Mecca time Sunday afternoon,
Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces had bombarded
the US military headquarters in the 'Abbas ibn Firnas Airport in
Ba'qubah on Sunday.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the
Iraqi puppet police as saying that the Resistance had fired five mortar
rounds into the American-occupied installation, sending plumes of smoke
rising into the sky.
Resistance bomb blasts US column, reportedly killing two American troops.
In a dispatch posted at 4pm Mecca time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat
al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb had exploded by a US
military column in the al-Hadid area of western Diyala Province.
The Diyala Province correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a
source in the Iraqi puppet police as saying that a bomb that had been
planted by the side of the main road in the al-Hadid are blew up by a
passing US military column, disabling one Humvee and killing two US
soldiers and wounding two more of them.
Al-'Azim.
US, puppet army forces close off al-'Azim, launch sweep against Resistance in the area.
In a dispatch posted at 11:30am Mecca time Sunday morning, Mafkarat
al-Islam reported that US occupation forces backed up by Iraqi puppet
army troops at the time of reporting were surrounding the al-'Azim area
and carrying out military operations after Iraqi puppet army forces in
the area had been subjected to two days of Resistance attacks.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported residents of
al-'Azim as saying that US and Iraqi puppet army forces with air cover
from US helicopter gun ships had surrounded the city and cut al roads
lading to it. A military operation had begun there.
Resistance fighters attack puppet army camp in al-'Azim.
In a dispatch posted at 22am Mecca time Sunday morning, Mafkarat
al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters armed with machine
guns and medium weapons had assaulted an Iraqi puppet army camp in the
al-'Azim area north of Baghdad.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported residents of
al-'Azim who witnessed the attack as saying that about 20 Resistance
fighters attacked the camp, killing 18 Iraqi puppet troops and wounding
15 more of them, most of them severely. Three Resistance fighters were
also killed in te attack and four more of them wounded. Afterwards, the
Resistance attackers withdrew from the area.
Salah ad-Din Province.
At-Tarimiyah.
US planes rocket homes in at-Tarimiyah, killing four civilians.
In a dispatch posted at 3:30pm Mecca time Sunday afternoon,
Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US fighter planes had attacked several
civilian houses in the at-Tarimiyah area, just north of Baghdad.
The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported
eyewitnesses as saying that two houses in at-Tarimiyah were struck in
the American air raid, which destroyed the buildings and killed four
civilians and wounded five more. Most of the victims were women and
children, the correspondent reported.

Badr Brigades suspected in murder of Shi'i religious leader who sharply criticized pro-American Shi'i cleric 'Ali as-Sistani.
The pro-American Shi'i sectarian Badr Brigades are reported to have
assassinated Shi ' religious leader 'Ali an-Najafi on Sunday morning a
week after the Shi'i scholar denounced pro-American Shi'i religious
authority 'Ali as-Sistani in a Friday sermon.
The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in an-Najaf reported sources as
saying that 'Ali an-Najafi had given a sermon in which he accused
as-Sistani of undermining the Islamic pillar of jihad. An-Najafi said
that 'Ali ign Abi Talib, the founder of Shi'i Islam, would have the
heads of the likes of as-Sistani before fighting infidels if they were
to come back to life today. An-Najafi reportedly accused as-Sistani and
other pro-American Shi'i clerics of maintaining silence over the
shedding of Sunni Muslim blood and even giving their blessings to that
killing.
An-Najafi said that as-Sistani, who is Iranian, does not speak
Arabic and does not read the Qur’an even if he is a religious
authority.
Sources told Mafkarat al-Islam that an-Najafi disappeared
immediately after delivering the sharply worded sermon and stayed at
home. But an armed force, believed to be Badr Brigade gunmen, attacked
an-Najafi’s home in the al-Qadisiyah neighborhood on Sunday morning. At
the time of reporting the home had been surrounded ever since the
morning with no one able to approach it.
