Iraqi insurgent video shows graphic death of US Marines

La Voz de Aztlan has obtained a copy of a video that sheds light on how 5 US Marines met their tragic death in Ramadi, Iraq on April 5, 2004. The video specifically shows the death of 19 year old Private 1st Class Moises A. Langhorst of Moose Lake, Minnesota. The Pentagon presently does not know how Private Langhorst and the other 4 U.S. Marines were killed. The video, all in Arabic, depicts a "suicide operation" and starts with a moving white sedan being film through the rear of another vehicle on a road in Ramadi (...) We are making the video available to show that "war is hell" and to hopefully help in a small way in bringing this insane war to an end...

Iraqi insurgent video shows graphic death of US Marines

Ernesto Cienfuegos, La Voz de Aztlan

Los Angeles, Alta California - November 19, 2004 - (ACN) La Voz de Aztlan has obtained a copy of a video that sheds light on how 5 US Marines met their tragic death in Ramadi, Iraq on April 5, 2004. The video specifically shows the death of 19 year old Private 1st Class Moises A. Langhorst of Moose Lake, Minnesota. The Pentagon presently does not know how Private Langhorst and the other 4 U.S. Marines were killed.

The video, all in Arabic, depicts a "suicide operation" and starts with a moving white sedan being film through the rear of another vehicle on a road in Ramadi. The white sedan suddenly swerves and heads towards what appears to be a US Marine armored troop carrier. As the white sedan crashes into the armored troop carrier a large explosion is seen. Iraqi insurgents then film the aftermath of the operation and a graphic segment is shown showing the bloody body of a US Marine on the ground. As the camera pans over the body and head of the dead marine, the name Langhorst can be seen on the collar of the uniform and the words "US Marines" on the rim of the shirt breast pocket.

The US Department of Defense official casualty list shows only one US Marine with the name "Langhorst" being killed in Iraq. Further research by La Voz de Aztlan and comparison of the marine on the video with pictures released by the family in Minnesota conclusively indicates that the dead marine is in fact Private 1st Class Moises A. Langhorst. The other four marines that were killed are Pfc. Christopher R. Cobb, 19, of Bradenton, Florida., Pfc. Ryan M. Jerabek, 18, of Oneida, Wisconsin., Lance Cpl. Travis J. Layfield, 19, of Fremont, California. and Lance Cpl. Anthony P. Roberts, 18, of Bear, Delaware. They were all assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 4th Marines, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force out of Camp Pendleton, California.

There is a picture and background information on Private 1st Class Moises A. Langhorst at the following two web pages: http://www.militarycity.com/valor/257140.html and http://news.minnesota.publicradio.org/features/2004/04/07_ap_iraqkia/

The Windows Media video showing the Iraqi insurgent operation resulting in the marines' death is being published by La Voz de Aztlan at http://www.aztlan.net/ramadi.wmv Depending on the amount of bandwidth utilized to accomodate everyone that wants to see it, we will continue to make it available unless the bandwidth becomes too excessive. We are making the video available to show that "war is hell" and to hopefully help in a small way in bringing this insane war to an end.
