US troops abuse bodies of two Resistance
fighters, dragging them around western Baghdad’s al-'Amiriyah district
tied to their Humvees.
In a dispatch posted at 9:35pm Makkah time Monday
night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that two Iraqi Resistance
fighters were attempting to plant a bomb in the path of a US patrol that
was in the western Baghdad area of al-'Amiriyah near the al-Bayt
al-'Iraqi car lot when the Americans came upon them and shot and killed
them. The Americans then desecrated the bodies.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam
reported local eyewitnesses as saying that after shooting the two
Resistance fighters, the Americans used a rope and tied the bodies to
two of their Humvees and drove around four streets in the predominantly
Sunni district of al-'Amiriyah dragging the bodies behind them as
trophies. The correspondent reported that the American troops dragged
the bodies up and down al-'Amal ash-Sha'bi Street, al-Madayif Street,
al-Munazzamah Street, and the densely populated residential street that
links the two sides of the al-'Amiriyah neighborhood.
The Americans then cut the bodies loose and tied
them to the hoods of their Humvees instead and drove around the district
displaying them, yelling and shouting hysterically in English "no more
after today."
The US occupation troops finally dumped the
Resistance fighters’ bodies at the end of al-'Amal ash-Sha'bi Street in
the al-Jihad neighborhood. The bodies by then had been badly lacerated
by being dragged around the streets and burned by the heat of the Humvee
engines.
The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported
that the Americans displayed and dragged the bodies of the Resistance
fighters through densely populated neighborhoods, knowing that the
Resistance would not want to attack them there, where there would have
been heavy civilian casualties. For that reason, the Americans knew
that they could behave as they liked without fear of ambush.
American-sponsored show "trial" of Iraqi
President Saddam Husayn holds session in Baghdad.
In a dispatch posted at 1:10pm Makkah time Monday
afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the US-sponsored show
"trial" of Iraqi President Saddam Husayn and seven other imprisoned
Iraqi leaders resumed for another session on Monday.

against the Iraqi President and for the overthrow of the government, in
which 148 conspirators in the area of ad-Dujayl were eventually
executed.
The BBC, as monitored by Mafkarat al-Islam
reported that an issue discussed was whether the signatures on the
execution orders for those found guilty in the 1982 plot had been
authentic. Iraq’s chief of Intelligence until 1984, Barzan at-Tikriti,
the half brother of President Saddam Husayn, told the gathering that he
doubted the authenticity of the signatures and noted how simple it was
for signatures to be forged.
At-Tirkiti also accused the puppet "prosecutor" in
the American show "trial" of exploiting the ignorance of many people
regarding the details of the ad-Dujayl case in order to smear the
reputations of the "defendants."
In a dispatch posted at 3:15pm Makkah time Monday
afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the American-run show
trial had been adjourned until 15 May after hearing tapes purporting to
be recordings of Iraqi leaders discussing the punishment for the
ad-Dujayl plotters.

killed three civilian Iraqis and wounded another 16 of them.
In contrast to Iraqi Resistance attacks, which have
clear and defined targets – occupation troops or armed forces,
officials, or collaborators with the US-installed puppet regime – these
two blasts appeared targeted exclusively on civilians.
Such mysterious attacks are widely viewed as a part
of an Anglo-American effort to rescue their failing fortunes in Iraq by
sparking a sectarian civil war in the country enabling them to fulfill
their plans of partitioning the country along ethnic and religious
lines.
